Pierre begins appearing as the son of the late Daniel in 1627. He is not the Pierre who was hoste de la Croix Blanche. Could he be the Pierre Dutoit son of the late Daniel whose beaupère (step-father or father-in-law) in 1633 was Michel Veyre, and who appears with his wife Jeanne Chevalley in a document of Jaques Jayet, notary, 22 jan 1634 (marriage at Moudon, 06 mar 1631)? If so, in what sense are Michel Veyre and this Pierre Dutoit connected? The known children of Michel Veyre and Catherine Genier were baptised in the 1620's, but is it possible that Michel, who died in 1658, had been married previously, and that a daughter by the earlier marriage had married Pierre Dutoit prior to his marriage to Jeanne Chevalley? That would explain how Michel would be the "beaupère" of Pierre, and would also explain the existence of Daniel, adult son of Pierre Dutoit who is noted on 21 apr 1651 (Benoit Giraudet, notary at Moudon, ACV DL 50/3) as a nephew of Daniel and Abraham Dutoit, brothers, parties associated with Michel Veyre in an exchange of property with Pierre son of Antoine son of Jaques Dutoit.

Several children have probably been missed in this family. In particular, it is tempting to think that the Pierre Dutoit who was the father of Isaac Dutoit the notary could be among them.
The Abraham son of Pierre Dutoit baptised 31 jul 1625 is clearly one of his children, because of the presence of Pierre's uncle Abraham and brother Jaques. Beyond that, the children of Pierre Dutoit "dit Billet" probably belong here. The other children of "Pierre Dutoit" could belong to at least two other men of the same name.
