[10596] Mary Cummins may have been related in some way to Christian Cummins (or Comens) who is mentioned in Early Germans of New Jersey by Theodore F. Chambers. This Cummins family, from the Pfalz in Germany, settled in Asbury, Warren Co., NJ. See RootsWeb World Connect: Catarina Meyer Zu Mecklendorf's daughters, submitted by Caroline Malmgren Davis, 2005.
New Jersey tax lists show the presence of Cumming, Cummins and Commens families in both Morris and Hunterdon counties. (Lebanon, Hunterdon Co. and Bethlehem, Hunterdon Co.)
Settlers of the Beekman Patent, Chapter 69, has records about Cummins Fam. Old notes indicate these were from the Dover Baptist Church.
Online, the website for Morris Co., NJ had an article about the Irish who arrived in NJ and lived in or near Morris Plains.
Mary Cummins identified as the wife of Daniel Moore. Karen's great grandmother joined the DAR on the strength of Rev. War service record of David Moore, Daniel's father.

She seems to be the daughter of these parents, on the 1870 census, Edgar Co., IL. However, it is possible these are not her parents.

She is probably the daughter of Daniel Curchod or Cruchod of Dommartin and his wife Claudine Panchaud. There is a gap in the records at Dommartin 1633-1645, but we find probably the same Claudine appearing at a baptism in 1655, that of Claudine daughter of Jacob Curchod (and his wife Eve Dutoit), with Jean Dutoit, brother-in-law of the father, Claudine Curchod, and Jeanne Curchod, sponsors. While other Curchod families had a daughter Claudine, they are either too old or too young to be the wife of Antoine Dutoit.
Claudine Curchod apparently had died before 04 nov 1687, when the Manual de Cour de Justice de Chavannes-sur-Moudon (ACV B i l 264) includes, as part of a long-running disupute about property claimed by the Lieutenant Dutoit in the face of auctions to pay his debts, "compart en outre honnorée Claudine Ray, femme dudit Sr. Lieutenant Dutoit", and mentioning her (or his?) brother-in-law Sr. Curial Curchod de Dommartin! Further entries pertaining to the same dispute mention that a house disputed by the Lieutenant and Samuel Gaudard had been part of the property that the Lieutenant had acknowledged as belonging to his late wife, and when Gaudard seemed to have exhausted his appeals against the Lieutenant himself, he brought action against the Lieutenant's sons Jean Jaques and David, whose mother is known to have been Claudine Curchod. In the end, the documents produced by the various parties led to a ruling in Gaudard's favor, even though Monsieur Tacheron had stepped up at the 11th hour to finance the Lieutenant's debts.
It has not been clearly established which of the wives of Daniel Curchod was the mother of Jean François Curchod.
