Apparently the Eve who married Jean Wagnieres in 1618, though she would be old for marriage. The bride is identified in that record as the daughter of the late Jaques. A further marriage to Jean Perrin-Beauche is revealed in a settlement dated 29 jul 1628 (Jaques Jayet, notary at Moudon, ACV DL 57/4 fol. 5), regarding a dispute over her rights to dowry and other property received from the heirs of Gaspard and Jaques Dutoit, and from her marriage to Jean Wagnieres, and for her daugher Susanne Wagnieres. Among the property she claimed from the estate of Jean Wagnieres is land at Tholes, suggesting that she is the Eve Dutoit "dit de Tholes" who is mentioned occasionally in other records.

Felix appears as a witness at a baptism in Moudon in 1609, and there are a few references besides the baptisms of his children there. A document recorded by the notary Barbey of the district of Oron (ACV DO 1/1), dated 26 mar 1621, indicates he had received property relating to his marriage settlement from his wife in 1613 and 1614, and that his father-in-law is now deceased. At La Chiésaz, parish of Blonay, 1620.

At least 11 children are attributed to a "François Dutoit" in records of Moudon and neighboring parishes at the end of the 16th Century. Whether they are all the children of the same man is open to question. If the registers at Moudon are taken at face value, at least two of the children are too close together. However, it is not impossible that one or more dates have been placed in the wrong year, or that some children were born out of wedlock.
The early baptisms that mention François Dutoit qualify him only as "de Chavannes". If there were more than one adult François in Chavannes in this period, the normal practice would be to list an occupation, title, or an epithet such as "the younger" to distinguish between them. The church records contain nothing that could be taken as an indication of a second François raising a family there prior to 1600. (This problem is is a general one, affecting about the first 30-40 years of baptisms recorded at Moudon.) There are mentions of other men of the same name, but very little has surfaced in the notarial records that would indicate descendants.
It has occurred to us that the problem of the baptismal dates of the children of François (some are too close together) could be completely resolved if the dates had been recorded "old style", with the new year beginning March 25. The registers as they exist today show the years all beginning on January 1, but we cannot be sure they were not copied at a later date and rearranged somehow by a person who failed to alter the value of the year for the affected dates. Or perhaps he took the year as it was stated in January and did not increment it when he reached the records for March. This last possibility would make most of the dates in these registers one year too early! Besides the problem of the children whose baptisms are too close together, there is also the problem of the marriage contract of Nicolas Dutoit, which is dated 20 jan 1586 (Pierre George, notary), while the church record says 16 jan 1585. It seems unlikely that a whole year would elapse between the church wedding and the signing of the contract.
If the copyist has misinterpreted all or some of the dates, it is not only the children of François Dutoit who would be affected! An analysis of the entire first register of births and deaths is needed (1560's to 1590). Also, more information should be extracted from the early notarial records. It may still be possible to determine if the dates in the registers are correct.
Nevertheless, indirect evidence has turned up that suggests other solutions. For example, the marriage contract of Nicolas son of François Dutoit features Jaques Dutoit, uncle of Nicolas (20 jan 1586, Pierre George, notary at Moudon). Now, the François who was the son of Pierre (this Pierre sometimes called Nicod) had no brother Jaques. The list of his siblings is known from several sources in the mid-16th Century. The only Jaques that fits all the citations relating to Nicolas is the son of Claude, and cousin of François son of Pierre (Nicod). In the marriage contract, Jaques Dutoit refers to Nicolas as his nephew, and the bride as his sister-in-law. Initially, this made us wonder if the contract might be in error, with Jaques actually the brother of Nicolas -- this would be Jaques dit Maillard, known to be the son of François son of Pierre (Nicod). Eventually, we realized that the citations were correct: Nicolas son of François son of Claude had an uncle Jaques son of Claude, and Jaques had married Marie Pache, sister of the bride of Nicolas, so that the wife of Nicolas was indeed the sister-in-law of Jaques. This realization led to a re-evaluation of the records relating to the children of "François Dutoit". The conclusion is that Jaques dit Maillard and at least a couple of the others must belong to François son of Pierre (Nicod). Jaques belongs here because of documentary evidence connecting him to the children of Pierre (Nicod), and at least one or two others, because some of the remaining baptisms are too close together to be the children of one mother. Since most of the children disappear from the records after their baptisms, there will always be uncertainty about their parentage. However, the fact that only Jaques carried the alias Maillard suggests that he may have been the only son of François and Claudaz Maillard who left descendants (or, perhaps he was known as "Maillard" simply to distinguish him from the other Jaques). In the next generation, the Maillard alias disappears entirely.
Because of this uncertainty, it is not clear when the present François died. No "partage" or reference to a distribution of his estate has surfaced. The absence of a settlement among the heirs would, in fact, be consistent with the idea that Jaques dit Maillard was his only heir, but it is also true that the records of a large number of notaries have been lost. This François was definitely dead by 14 oct 1593, when his sons Jaques and Joseph made a reconnaissance for property at Chavannes (ACV Fn 347, fol. 286v). This record calls his father Pierre.
The children shown for the present François are those for whom no evidence of different parentage as been located. There are more records that need to be checked (for example, in the district of Oron), so some changes may be needed in the future.

He is mentioned in a sale of property at Moudon recorded by Jean Jaquery (Jaqueri, Jaquier), notary (ACV DL 53/1fol. 30v), dated 15 mar 1559, in which the purchaser is Claude Duthey son of the late François Duthey of Vuarmarens.
Son of Claude, but which one? The Claude who was the father of this François Dutoit was still alive in 1579 when the marriage contract of his granddaughter Jaquemaz was signed. In 1589, he is mentioned again, selling vineyards at Vevey to François Morloz (François Chevalley, notary at Vevey, 15 mar 1589 -- the document is witnessed by Maurice son of Pierre Butty and Claude son of the late Claude Butty of Ursy). By 1589, Claude the father of this François Dutoit had died. The solution seems to be that he is the brother of "Gros Jaques", and uncle of the children of the latter. That a Jaques Dutoit son of Claude Dutoit of Chavannes had a brother François is demonstrated by a document in the minutaire of Jaques Richard, notary at Moudon (ACV DL 79/3), dated 04 dec 1598. It begins, "Jaques filz de Claude du Tey de Chavannes a faict son procureur special François du Tey son frere", evidently for the purpose of representing Jaques in a legal action before the Châtelain and cour de justice of Moudon.
François, along with Daniel son of Pierre Dutoit and Anthoine son of Thomas Dutoit, purchased rights to a "dîme" or tax on various properties at Chavannes:

Children are assigned to François son of Claude based on direct evidence such as marriage contracts that name other relatives. A number of other children of "François Dutoit" are left with François son of Pierre that may actually belong to François son of Claude, for lack of evidence.

There is some circumstantial evidence that François may be a descendant of Hieronyme Dutoit of Moudon. Two sons of the latter married Lymat, and there was a son Baltazard. The earliest baptism of a son of François of Neyruz, 1618, has witnesses Baltazard Dutoit and Jean Limat. The witnesses at later baptisms also include familiar names from Moudon. The most likely parentage would be Aimé Dutoit and Françoise Limat, widow of the late George Chenaulx, tisseran, married at Moudon 22 mar 1590. However, see below.
It appears from the following document of 21 apr 1684 (Vincent Briod, notary) that François early acquired rights, if we understand correctly, over all the communal bread ovens in the commune of Neyruz. In this document, the male heirs sell their rights to Their Excellencies of Bern.

While this document clearly states that Aymé Dutoit had a son François (as well as a son Jean, otherwise unknown), there is also a brief notation of the payment of "lods" (a sort of real estate transfer tax) somewhere in the years 1617-1626 (received by Eg. Pyvart, commissaire for the hospital of Moudon) by "François Duthoict pour le lod de la donnation à luy faicte par feu Aymé Duthoict son oncle" (ACV Fn 336, fol. 27). This statement suggests that we have inadvertently combined two men named Aimé Dutoit, one who died shortly before 1617, and another who died after 1647. Further, one record says François was the son of Aimé Dutoit "the elder", while another says he was the nephew of Aimé Dutoit.
One possibility is that François, noted as nephew and heir of (the first) Aimé Dutoict (Fn 353, fol. 702v, 18 feb 1626; the same volume mentions Françoise, widow of Aimé Dutoict. fol. 19v, 11 sep 1621), is really is the same François here listed as the son of the first Aimé. If Aimé had no surviving children of his own, perhaps he made a "donation entre vifs" of his entire estate, apart from whatever dowry his wife may have had, to his nephew François. The natural choice for an heir might have been a son of Aimé's brother Jaques, who had also married a Lymat, and there is indeed a baptism for François son of Jaques Dutoit, tisserand, at the appropriate time.

Baptism not found. This François, identified as the son of the late Daniel, appears first in 1624, apparently as an adult, thus expected to have reached the age of 25.

In a document dated 07 jan 1662, Pierre Mamin, Banderet of Tercier and guardian of the heirs of the late François Dutoit of Vevey rents out vineyards in Vevey and elsewhere to Roud du Costerd (Jean Puenzieux, notary of Vevey). A later document of the same notary identifies him as the late "E: Fran. Dutoit", which we interpret as Egrège François, thus the notary.
