He appears in a partage (Samuel Briod, notary at Moudon, dated 31 may 1728), allong with his brother Daniel, and sisters Marie (wife of David Vulliens) and Jeanne (wife of Jean Jaton of Villard-Mendraz) and first cousin David Briod. However, he could be the subject of a document of 27 may 1750 (Jaques Daniel Burnand, notary at Moudon) of the "minor children" of Jaques Dutoit of Neyruz and their first cousins and their uncle David Vulliens of St. Cierge.

This is the Jaques who married Françoise Gilliéron 06 sep 1666. That man is cited as the son of one of the Jean Dutoits who was not the conseiller, 1671. Dates of baptisms prove that he could not have been the Jaques who married Margaret Monnerat 14 aug 1675. Parentage not yet established, or even suspected.
By 1693, living at Brenles.

Cited as resident of Vevey, 29 nov 1603 (Jean Maquelin, notary at Vevey), and again 07 feb 1616, at that time a cordonnier. He appears to be the Jaques also known as "l'aisné" in notarial records from Vevey, to distinguish him from the couturier, son of Moyse, known as "le jeune". Because the other Jaques Dutoit, the couturier and "the younger", remarried about 1625 and survived until at least 1648, Jaques the cordonnier and "the elder" must have been the one who died before 1634.
As the father of this Jaques Dutoit seems to be the only Michel of his generation associated with Moudon (and thus also with Chavannes-sur-Moudon), it now seems likely that this is the same Jaques son of Michel Dutoit who married Jeanne DeMont at Moudon in 1596. No children from this marriage have been identified in the records at Moudon, which are reasonably detailed at this era. It is possible that Jaques and his wife moved to Vevey, where any baptisms from that period are lost.
Information about his descendants comes in part from a document recorded by Jean Maquelin, notary at Vevey (ACV DS 56/23, 07 nov 1637), in which Jean son of the late Noel Grimmoz bourgeois of Vevey owes 500 florins to Baltazard Burnand bourgeois of Moudon, in cancellation of three obligations due to the late Jaques Dutoit bourgeois of Vevey and father-in-law of Baltazard. The three debts were recorded as follows: (1) 20 jun 1628, Claude Pictet, notary; (2) 27 dec 1628, Grivel, notary; (3) 13 jan 1631, Grivel, notary. The notes had become part of Jaques' estate.

Several documents indicate that Jaques Dutoit dit Maillard is the son of François. Evidently, this son was destined to inherit the name of his mother's family. As late as 1644, we find appearances of Evaz wife of Jaques Dutoit, indicating both were still alive. A document of Denis Pivard, notary, concerning a complicated settlement among the Maillard and Billet branches of the family, identifies his brother-in-law as Eg. Jaques Pidoux (1618). This relationship has not been explained, but it makes us suspect Evaz the wife of Jaques Dutoit was actually the sister of Jaques Pidoux.
In this case, it is clear that Jaques is the son of the François who was the son of the man variously know as Pierre or Nicod, and not the son of Claude. One striking demonstration of this is a marginal notation on the document recorded by Jean Jaquier, 29 mar 1569, in which Claude Demont, for a 1/2 interest, and the heirs of the late Bernard Demont for the other 1/2, sell to Nicod, Pierre, Jean, François, and Guillaume Dutoit, who, we learn in other documents dated 1563 and 1568, are brothers, sons of the late Nicod Dutoit, or else of Pierre if we can believe other documents. The document of 1569 bears a marginal notation that a copy was made later for Jaques son of François Dutoit, one of the parties.

Cited as a resident of Estavayer in 1627 and 1628 in records of the notaries of Moudon. By 18 mar 1628 he was married—the document recording the sale of two parcels of woodlands at Chavannes to Guillaume Frossard mentions the presence of Jaques' wife, but does not give her name (Jaques Jayet, notary, ACV DL 57/4 fol. 37). The same document, though damaged, appears to mention his brother Pierre as well.

Minister at Bercher 1638-1666, and before that at Vallorbe. His children seem to have been born before he arrived at Bercher, or else between 1638 and 1643, when the first of his surviving registers begins there. A document recorded by Jaques Daniel Faucherres, 17 sep 1651, identifies David son of Rod Dutoit as his nephew. There is a reference about 1631 in the church records of Moudon to Jaques Dutoit student at Lausanne. Definitely cited as deceased by 1668.

Jaques Dutoit the notary was definitely the brother of the Gaspard Dutoit who married Sarah Nicod-Arnaud. A document recorded by Jaques Jaquieri, notary at Moudon, 18 jun 1620, involved Jaques Jayet as judicially appointed tuteur for the heirs of the late Jaques Dutoit, notary, and sells the latter's "boutique". This is the term used for, among other businesses, the office of a notary.

Apparently this is the late Jaques Dutoit whose daughter Jeanne Catherine is mentioned in notarial records as early as 1643. Her uncle is the banneret Anthoine Dutoit, and she marries his son Abraham. Her stepfather was Isaac Rouge, justicier de Payerne, and her mother was Barbille Masset. However, this may be based on the incorrect assumption that Antoine's wife was Barbille's sister. The published genealogy makes them first cousins once removed.

Mentioned in a record of Jaques Daniel Fauchieres, notary at Moudon, 22 mar 1645. He is also the Jaques Dutoit son of the late Moyse Dutoit of Chesalles who in 1637 transacts business with Pierre Olevey (Jean DeCristaz, notary). It is through the connection with his father Moyse Dutoit that we were able to determine that this is the Jaques Dutoit of Vevey who was a couturier and "the younger". In turn, these epithets identify him as the same Jaques Dutoit who married Jaquemaz Gantin, as revealed in records of 09 and 19 mar 1633 (Jean Jenet, notary at Vevey) regarding a marriage settlement for this couple, and naming her father. Having reached that conclusion, we conclude that this Jaques lived until at least the date of the baptism of his last child, in 1648. Therefore, references to "the late Jaques Dutoit" in the 1630's at Vevey must refer to the other Jaques Dutoit, "the elder" and a cordonnier, dead by 1635 or earlier.
He appears to have still have had dealings at Moudon 22 jun 1629, when his recognizes a debt to his uncle, the minister Pierre Dutoit (Baltazard DeCristaz, notary). This raises the possibility that some of his children may have been baptised at Moudon and have not yet been identified. For example, the registers of Abraham (?) Faucherres, notary at Moudon (ACV DL 40/7), 22 mar 1645, contain an agreement between Jaques son of the late Moyse Dutoit, couturier at Vevey, who owes money to Jaques Tacheron, deacon at Moudon and minister at Syens, including a similar debt that Jean (also a couturier) and Pierre Dutoit, sons of the said Jaques, also owe to Mr. Tacheron. Thus, we appear to be missing, or not to have identified, a baptism for a son Jean who had reached adulthood by 1645, thus probably born before 1620.
One Jaques Dutoit was received into citizenship of Vevey on 24 jan 1619. The compiled genealogies attributed to de Montet in the Archives Communales de Vevey, p. 221, appear to indicate that this Jaques was supposed to have been formerly a citizen of Chesalles and Moudon. However, there are several gaps in the genealogy, suggesting that the original sources were vague or incomplete. The present Jaques is the one who is connected with Chesalles. The other Jaques Dutoit of Vevey, "the elder", seems to have no such connection.
