Her relationships, and indeed her existence, are revealed in a transaction dated 19 jun 1685 (Abraham Ballif, notary, ACV DP 1/1) in which she sells property that she obtained from her mother Jeanne Catherine Dutoit as part of her dowry established in her marriage contract of 29 jun 1685 (the name of the notary who recorded this contract is not given). She was the daughter of the late Abraham Dutoit, who had been a councillor of Moudon. Jeanne acted with the consent of her husband Sebastian Dubrit le jeune, and her "alliés" (relatives by marriage) François Chatelanat, surgeon, and Jean Jaques Folliet, both citizens of Moudon. The property was sold to Pierre Dutoit, "officier consilliayre de Moudon" (likely this is Pierre Dutoit son of Gabriel).
François Chatelanat is evidently Daniel François Chatelanat, noted as surgeon and bourgeois de Moudon in other documents of this period. He had married Etiennaz Dutoit, whose parentage has not been established. Moreover, he sold property adjacent to the heirs of Abraham Dutoit dit Baud in 1686, strongly suggesting that the present Jeanne Dutoit was a daughter of "Abraham dit Baud".
At some time prior to December, 1674, she and her unidentified cousins had inherited property from her aunt Claudine Dutoit. An entry in the registers of the "cour de justice de Moudon" (ACV Bil 53) dated 12 jun 1679 indicates that the estate was still being disputed with her step-father Daniel Nicaty.

Age at death given as about 72, but ages reported for the elderly are often greatly exaggerated in the registers of Cronay. Once we realized that her husband was most frequently referred to as simply Jaques Dutoit of Neyruz, we realized that the marriage of 1729 was probably theirs, establishing her parentage. She appears at a baptism in 1727 at Thierrens. Her baptism does not seem to be at Thierrens or Moudon. It is possible, given the inaccuracy of recorded age at death, that she could be Jeanne Sara born in 1703.
