Her joint testament with Magdelaine Peccat is recorded at the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, dated 12 sep 1727. They had lived together for 40 years at the time they made their testament. Magdelaine owned stock in the East India Company, and the probate of her estate in 1741 required that a copy of her will be filed at Canterbury. 1741 should therefore be the date of Magdelaine's death, and we identify the death of "Mademoiselle Janot d'Annonay" recorded at Bern in 1729 as that of Anne.

Full name is given only in death record, elsewhere as Anne Johannot. Parentage has not been proved, though the name Esther in the Johannot family seems to be associated with descendants of Mathieu (son of Barthelemi) Johannot and Esther Alléon. However, the only descendants of this line found so far are all connected to Jean Johannot and Anne Leorat. Parentage supplied by Louis Johannot, and listed by Le Moine and others.
However, Le Moine list her as the wife of "Jean Johannot of Morges, non identifié". Le Moine did not succeed in contacting or unraveling the Swiss Johannot family, though he did find a trove of documents relating to a family squabble that involved most of them.

Anthoine deeded over his share of his inheritance to his brother Pierre in 1682, mentioning various additional bequests to his relatives (Registre d'Insinuations B42, p. 82, Annonay). Therefore, we think the 1683 death record for "Anthoine Johannot papetier" refers to this Anthoine, and not some other. It appears he never married and had no children.

This man is placed tentatively as the ancestor of the other Johannot's of Annonay. According to La France Moderne, the family appeared in Annonay in 1634, when brothers Barthelemy and Mathieu bought the mills at Faya and there established a paper factory. They were, according to this reference, originally from Ambert, in Auvergne. The death record of Anthoine is the only case we have found where Auvergne is mentioned, though he was not the first of the family to die in Annonay. There do not seem to be any other mentions of this origin in the many birth and marriage records which appear as early as 1637, and there are no other mentions of this Anthoine. The other three of this name were born in Annonay to Pierre (1637), Mathieu (1638), and Jean (1653), who appear to be brothers. On the other hand, the elder Anthoine does not seem to appear at any of the baptisms, so his relationship is speculative at this time.
Of the children attached here, Barthelemy and Mathieu are listed as brothers in La France Moderne. As Jean and Pierre appear at the same time and seem to be approximately of the same generation, they are assumed to be brothers also. The original death record for Anne reads "soeur des papetiers", so she must belong to the same generation.
A notation in the Armorial du Vivarais (1908) mentions a bequest of Anthoine Johannot in 1662 to Pierre Johannot, son of Anthoine's brother Mathieu. The reference turns out to pertain to a later generation. Further information cited in the Armorial points to information in files at the Archives of Lyon (which had jurisdiction for taxation) as well as the Archives of Ardèche (jurisdiction in civil matters), and a work by W. Poidebard, MSS et notes héraldiques et généalogiques concernant les pays de Lyonnais, Foret, et Beaujolais. In the latter, apparently, is a full account of the history of the family from its arrival in 1634 down the the "present day", represented by a Mlle. Marguerite Johannot daughter of Henri and Marie Leblanc of Annonay.
