There are several references in the 1670's and later that a Jean Antoine Dutoit is the source of property that was inherited jointly by Antoine Dutoit, Lieutenant de Chavannes, and Balthazard Crausaz, through the estate of his first wife Claudine Dutoit. There is a similar reference in 1685 referring to the estate of a Jean Antoine Dutoit who died prior to 02 feb 1677, but this time the property seems to have fallen to Antoine and Joseph, sons of Daniel Dutoit and Pernon Cortesy. Is the present Jean Antoine Dutoit the one in question?

It is possible he is the same Jean Antoine Dutoit who later married Susanne daughter of Daniel Veyre of Chavannes, but this is so far only a speculation. In the records of his first family with Jeanne Girard, he is often known as Jean rather than Jean Antoine.

Mentioned in at least two notarial documents in Geneva regarding a loan involving his brother Jean François and his first cousin André Dutoit, 1745 and 1755. André does not appear in the records at Bercher, so we think it is likely he is another of the children of Joseph Dutoit born at L'Isle, or perhaps of one of the other brothers (Antoine, apparently died unmarried 1714, Jean François b. 1663, or Samuel b. 1664).

He is identified based on his wife's name as the Antoine Dutoit, vigneron for Monsr. the Judge Seigneux of Renens.

His testament was recorded by Pierre Dutoit, notary at Vevey, 03 apr 1708. He leaves his estate to his sister-in-law Jaqueline Monnet, widow of Jaques Dutoit, and to their son, his godson, Jean Benoit Dutoit. He and Jaqueline Monnet incurred many debts recorded by the notary Pierre Dutoit as late as 1720. Jaqueline paid expenses relating to his last illness on 14 sep 1720, after his death.
He and the notary Pierre Dutoit are identified 1719 as relatives of the late minister Gaspard Dutoit of Rolle, but the nature of the relationship was not noted. Jean Benoit Dutoit and the notary Pierre Dutoit appear to be fourth cousins, based on the current understanding of their pedigrees. Their common ancestor would be Guy (Guido) Dutoit of Chavannes-sur-Moudon.
