Did Antoine die or disappear before the marriage was consumated? Or were there two Andréaz Dutoits, daughters of the late Abraham Dutoit (and thus two of the latter as well)? It is entirely possible that the first groom died before the marriage could even be celebrated, but we found nothing in the surviving notarial records to explain this.
[14444] Date of contract, Jaques Jayet, notary, with Anthoine Dutoit, banderet, and Jaques Dutoit dit Maillard, her relatives.
As of 1737, her guardian, probably for purposes of property she had inherited, was the councillor Bonjour of Avenches. He appeared before the Chambre des Orphelins of Payerne to render an accounting of the expenses relating to her property during the past year (Samuel Comte, notary at Payerne, ACV 21/26). Could her missing marriage be recorded at Avenches?
From context in deeds of 20 may 1824, husband of Eliza who was apparently another daughter of James McDougall and Agnes Moodie.

Marriage contract recorded 01 feb 1697 by Isaac Dutoit, notary (ACV DL 37/7 fol. 148). However, it is clear from other documents recorded by the same notary (for example, fol. 130, dated 01 nov 1697) that their marriage must have occurred some years previously. The document of 01 nov 1697 shows Marie Braillard, widow of the late Pierre Pelet, acting for her daughter Esther Pelet, with advice from her brother Philippe Braillard and her brother-in-law Philippe Pelet.
Pierre might be the same man who married Françoise Thomas at Moudon 05 sep 1685.
