As no record of her marriage has been found, nor a clear record of the baptisms of her children, it is not certain that the children are hers. One or more may belong to another Antoine whose wife was Françoise Buttet. Marguerite Debetaz wife of Antoine son of Jaques Dutoit is named in a document recorded by Denis Pivard, notary at Moudon, 20 dec 1615, a debt to Pierre Crousaz of Lutry.
The isolated mention of this Jaqueta as the daughter of "Girodus de Tecto" may be an error (ACV Ab 6, fol. 31, date presumed to be in the range of 1358-1361). The present Jaqueta, daughter of Girardus de Botens and his wife Broyseta (a more conventional spelling is Brusseta), daughter of Johannes or Johannetus de Tecto is mentioned in several places. If Girardus and Girodus are simply variants of the same name, as seems very likely, given the extremely flexible treatment of personal names in the records of this period — the latinized names were find in documents are likely not the names used by these people in everyday life, i.e., French names — the statement that a certain property belonged to Jaqueta, daughter of Girodus de Tecto, could well be an error for Jaqueta, daughter of Girardus de Botens and his wife Brusseta de Tecto. There are many examples in early records from the Pays de Vaud where the family names of wives or mothers were used as alternative surnames, replacing the paternal surname at least temporarily, and sometimes permanently.
There seems to be no other mention of this "Girodus de Tecto", and we therefore lean toward the explanation that Girodus was in fact not a "de Tecto" himself, but simply the husband of one.

Prior to her marriage to André Dutoit, she had guardians Thomas and Jaques Dutoict, according to a record in a stray register of Clement Butty, notary in the vicinity of Vevey (ACV DS 106/113, 21 apr 1593), where listed as Jeanne de Boloz. This circumstance makes us suspect that André's father "Claude Dutoit le jeune" is in fact a close relative of Thomas and Jaques.
