Andrew and Isabell R. McDougall appear in deed of 29 mar 1846 (vol. 13 p. 228) to David McDougall. This may indicate when they went west. They are in Biggsville, Henderson Co., IL in 1850, 60, and 70, no children of their own. In 1850, Sarah McMillan age 19 (b. SC?) and Archibald McNeil age 25 (probably the brother of Isabell) are in the Andrew McDougall household. In 1870 there is a Frank McDougall age 2 b. IL in this family, listed out of order and not their son.

The Fitch papers (extracted by Kenneth Perry, 1998) note in item 1364, an interview 1867 with Peter Reid, that Andrew died leaving a considerable estate in Georgia, and that heirs were advertised for. "Esq. Livingston" went to Georgia to settle the estate, of which half was bequeathed to Andrew's youngest brother, Ebenezer. Esq. Livingston was Andrew's brother-in-law Alexander Livingston (1769-1863) who married Elizabeth McDougall.
His will was recorded in Jones Co., Georgia, Will book A, pp. 74-75, dated 15 mar 1818 and proved 28 may 1819:
Andrew McDougall's Estate. Fort Hawkins, March 15th 1818.
In the name of God Amen!
This being my last will and testament being in my right mind and perfectly collected, I in the first place doth will and bequeath unto Abner F. Gibson one negro named Aaron. 2nd to my brother Ebenezer McDougall the proceeds of the judgment obtained against John W. Compton of Jasper County, State of Georgia. 3rd all the rest of my personal and real estate to Maria, Elizabeth, Sarah, and Jane McDougall my sisters. I constitute and appoint Otho W. Callis at Fort Hawkins and Roger McCarthy of the town of Clinton and County of Jones my true and lawful executors to this my last will and testament. Signed and seales in the presence of Beverly Turpin, S. W. Butler. A. McDougall.
Georgia, Jones County SS. Court of Ordinary, May term, 1819.
Appeared in open court Roger Macarthy one of the executors of the last will and testament of Andrew McDougall deceased and being sworn saith that the name subscribed to the within instrument is in the handwriting of Andrew McDougall deceased and that the said McDougall told him in a conversation sometime previously to his death when he was perfectly sound in mind that he had made his will and related to him to the best of his recollection the substance of the within instrument as his will and that one of the subscribing witnesses to the said will is dead and the other absent so that his testimony cannot be procured by any process from this court. Sworn to and subscribed in open court, J. Smith C. C. O., recorded 19th May 1819. [Signature] Roger Macarthy, Executor.
Georgia, Jones County SS.
This day personally came and appeared befroe us Roger Macarthy and John Humphries two justices of the inferior court of said county, Samuel W. Butler, who being duly sworn saith that he was a subscribing witness to the within will, that he saw Andrew McDougall execute the same and signed it with Beverly Turpin at the request of said McDougall as witnesses in his presence and in the presence of each other, and that said Andrew McDougall was of sound mind at the execution thereof. Sworn an subscribed before us this 28th May 1819, John Humphries J. I. C., Roger Macarthy J. I. C. [Signature] S. W. Butler.
The sale and settlement of the estate is in Inventories and Appraisements vol. C, pp. 26-28. It appears that the total estate to be distributed to Andrew's sisters amounted to about $4,485, of which $2,858 came from the sale of slaves: 2 negro boys, Mary, Joe, Mary, and Abram.

Probably unmarried, as he appears as a grantor without wife in family partition deed of 18 apr 1853, vol. 36, p. 388. Evidently named in honor of Andrew Jackson's exploits in the War of 1812. Will is also on file in Tioga Co., PA, possibly because one or more heirs were living there. Will names sister Jane and her children Alexander and Ellen, brother Archibald L.'s widow Mary, nieces Minnie, Jennie, and Grace, (grand) nephew and niece William and Eleanor Robertson, and James Johnston and John W. Snyder.

This Anna is assigned parentage based on age. However, Anna who married Alexander Cuthbert might be a different person, if the daughter of Alexander and Julia McDougall is the one buried with them at Prospect Hill, dates1860-1942. Census records may help resolve this puzzle.
