His burial turned up in the "English Cemetery" of Livorno (in English, Leghorn), Italy: http://leghornmerchants.wordpress.com/2009/11/07/burials-at-the-old-english-cemetery-of-livorno/. Some explanation of this burial might be sought in the registers of the chapel of the "Protestant Society" at Livorno, now at the British National Archives.

He studied at Lausanne until about 1732, then was elected Curial of Moudon in September, 1735, resigning his post 22 oct 1783 in favor of his relative Philippe Louis Burnand—thus, he kept the records of the cour de justice of Moudon for nearly 50 years. Cited as Châtelain de Syens, 1741. In his capacity as a notary and Curial, the proceedings of all probate actions of the district of Moudon. These records survive and are microfilmed as FHC films 0922335 and 0922336, covering approximately 1735-1782, with a number of testaments dating from even earlier. His appointment as notary is dated 03 jan 1735. He is cited as Châtelain de Vulliens in 1754, indicating he succeeded his father-in-law in this office.
His probate records have been abstracted. He also left a register of "sovereign mandates" from Their Excellencies of Bern, an interesting demonstration of the sort of rule by edict that characterized the 18th Century in the Pays de Vaud.
