At the baptism of his daughter Philiberte in 1591, Jean Mathieu's mother or mother-in-law appears, indicated simply as Philiberte, grandmother of the child. Documents of Jaques Court, notary at Nyon, 18 feb 1623, give names of all four daughters (each had inherited 1/4 of the estate of Jean Mathieu Fornier) and their husbands.
The ACV has a genealogical dossier on the Fornier family of Nyon, P Campiche 337 (not yet examined). On the list of assessments for the "taille" of 1550 for the city of Nyon, there is a Jehan Fornyr, masson, and a Pierre Fornir, mercier.

The Fosse (or occasionally Fossé) family at Roquecourbe seems to be distinct from the Fos or de Fos family at Castres, even though the surnames listed for women in this area are often feminized, so that a woman named Marie, daughter of Jean Fos, would often be listed as Marie Fosse. In Roquecourbe, however, we find a Marie daughter of Abraham Fosse and Marie Fosse baptised 21 nov 1632, plausibly the same Marie who married Jean Scalé in 1661, his second wife.

1st wife of Daniel Sayre was Hannah Foster. This volume shows a third wife: Mary (?Clark) Fordham, widow of Joseph. Marriage date after 1688. Instead, could Mary have been the wife of Daniel, Jr.?
