In spite of the fact that her marriage record says she was from Morges, we have not found her baptism there. She is said to be the daughter of the minister "Jean Dance", but there is no such minister noted at Morges. Instead, there was a deacon Béat Louis Dance, appointed 12 feb 1714 and departed for "Long...." (this name cut off in the margin of the register at Morges) before the appointment of his successor Jean François Mandrot 08 mar 1733.
The collection "Fichiers des pasteurs" at the Archives Cantonales Vaudoises gives citations that place Susanne Gabrielle at Yverdon 1754-1755. Her baptism is not noted in this collection, but since the citation at Yverdon is as a sponsor for a baptism, her birth date is estimate to be no later than 1740.

His birth is cited in at least four different versions on the internet, and it turns out none of these is correct! The dates we found on the internet (all secondary sources) are: October 18, 1802 (from his death notice at Vevay), April 21, 1801, 4 Brumaire VI (French Republican Calendar), and 4 Brumaire X. The last of these dates, equivalent to 26 oct 1801, is the date his birth was registered at Bayonne. The "acte de naissance" gives his actual date of birth as 2 Brumaire X, or 24 oct 1801. This record names his parents as Jean Baptiste Danglade, ship's captain, and Marie Lissabe, residing in Bayonne in the Rue des Basques. The witnesses for the registration of the birth were Jean Louis Claverie, age 50, resident of Bardos in the Département of Basse-Pyrénées, maternal uncle of the child, and Françoise Lacaze, age 27, wife of Martin Danglade the elder and paternal aunt of the child.

An undated obituary, pasted into the register of the records of the bourgeoisie of Lausanne (AVL RB 020/008) reads:
M. Emile David. — Nous apprenons qu'hier est mort subitement à Rome, d'une peritonite, M. Emile David-Mercier, de Lausanne. M. David avait coutume, depuis plusieurs années, de passer l'hiver à Rome où l'attiraient un climat plus doux et les richesses artistiques de l'ancienne capitale du monde. Il était parti plein de santé; la maladie l'a brusquement surpris et enlevé en quelques heures.
M. David était un peintre de réel mérite, aussi conscientieux que modeste. Il exposait peu et travaillait à ses heures; mais ceux qui ont vu ses oeuvres ont pu en apprécier les grandes qualités de facture et de solidité et la gracieuse inspiration poétique. M. David était, en outre, un des connaisseurs en matière artistique les plus experts que notre pays ait produits; il avait beaucoup lu, beaucoup vu et tout sainement apprécié.
La mort de cet homme aimable et bon causera d'unanimes regrets.
