Brother of Bernard Tripod and nephew of Louis Tripod, 17 dec 1568, Claude Mayor notary. Anthoine is also mentioned in 1571 selling to Hombert Caliat (Caillat). It appears that this may be the "Antoine Tripod dit Clopt" whose son Jaques Tripod owned property at 77 Rue Louis de Savoie in Morges in 1606 (cadastral data, internet site), owned jointly (?) with Gabriel de la Pierraz, minister.
A document recorded 1 may 1584 by Michel Gonvers, notary at Lussy (ACV DK 33/1), seems to give the origin of the alias Clopt: the widow of Perrotin Tripod of St. Livres was Bartholomée, daughter of Antoine Clopt.

Identified as Esther's brother in notarial records, 01 jun 1610 hon. et discret Bartholome Tripod bourgeois d'Aulbonne to Estienne Mayor son beaufrere, a vineyard near Aubonne (Claude Mayor, notary), a document also mentioning Gabrielle (DeMont), the widow of Anthoine Mayor. He appears as the uncle of Estienne's son George as late as 1630.

Benjamin TRIPOD (ID #I8325)

The unruly son of Benjamin Tripod and Jeanne Miaz first came to the attention of the consistory of St. Livres 17 may 1672, when his father was "seriously exhorted to take care to chastise and correct his son", who, though "quite young", was playing cards and swearing. The baptism of Benjamin the son has not been found, but perhaps he was the child recorded as Jean Louis Tripod in 1660.
He was continually in trouble after 1675: 20 dec 1675, he and Theodore Ronget were accused of target practice with their rifles ("fusils") against a walnut tree the previous Sunday. 08 apr 1678, Benjamin Tripod the father complained against Elizabeth Pappaz, wife of Abraham Jotterand, shoemaker, of taking Tripod's son into her house, feeding him, and giving him wine, causing "des debauches et fripponneries de son fils". 24 dec 1680, Benjamin Tripod le fils has taken money from his father, left his father's house, and stayed at the house of Manasse Rivet (another one always in trouble with the authorities, for beating his mother-in-law), where he spend the money on drunkenness. On this occasion, Benjamin le fils says that part of the accusations were true, and he promises to mend his ways. However, on 30 dec 1680, he is accused of having fired his pistol several time on Christmas Eve, and 22 jul 1681 of showing disrespect to his mother and father and to his pastor, and drinking. By 18 nov 1681, his thoughts had turned to marriage, but his intended Marie Rosset, daughter of Jaques Rosset, successfully contested his assertions that she had promised to marry him. A decree from the Supreme Consistory of Bern was recorded at St. Livres by the consistory, 13 jan 1682, relieving Marie Rosset of all obligations of marriage, and directing her to return all gifts from Benjamin.
On the other hand, Benjamin Tripod le fils was a sponsor at the baptism of Jeanne Catherine, daughter of David Ronget and his wife Elizabeth Larpin, 08 sep 1680.

Brother of Anthoine Tripod and nephew of Louis Tripod, 17 dec 1568, Claude Mayor, notary. Possibly the same Bernard Tripod whose heirs held land next to Gabriel Tripod "dit Sodan" (!) 06 jul 1589, Claude Mayor notary. In this document, Samuel Dunant and Marguerite DuMartheray, widow of (illegible) are participants. Marguerite is known to be also wife of Jean Tripod who was alive 1583 and dead by 1595.
Parentage of Bernard Tripod is noted in a volume of "reconnaissances" for the Confrérie du St. Esprit of Aubonne, 03 jan 1575 (ACV Fh 159, fol. 279-281v), the document being recorded at his house in Aubonne. The name of his wife is given the terrier Fh 160 , fol. 225v, as Marie, fille de feu Michel Porchon.
Another Bernard Tripod is cited in the quernet Fh 33, fol. 870, believed to date from about 1580. This Bernard was the illegitimate son of Jacquet Tripod of St. Livres, about whom we have no further information.

The three sons of François Tripod of St. Livres made a "reconnaissance" 03 jan 1575 and another 28 jan 1576 regarding payments due annually to the city of Aubonne for property originally held by the foundation for the Mass of Purgatory at Aubonne, as heirs of Jean Tripod and his wife Pernette (ACV Fh 158 fol. 57 ff.). The documents cite a sale by Jean Tripod and his wife Pernette 20 jun 1519, and a reconnaissance of 10 nov 1527 by their daughter Jeannette relating to the property in question. It is not stated that François was in fact a son of Jean and Pernette, so it is possible that the chain of inheritance is through a sibling of the first Jean, or else that François was actually a grandson of Jean. It may be possible to resolve this matter through earlier "terriers".

Identified as son of the late Bartholomé Tripod of Aubonne in a document of André Morsier, 09 apr 1599, regarding settlement of the estate of Bartholomé, whose daughter Pernette had married Gabriel Sylvestre, minister at Bursinel. Gabriel Tripod, notary and bourgeois of Aubonne, was Pernette's brother.
Egrège Gabriel Tripod, son of the late Egrège Bartholomé Tripod, made a reconnaissance 12 mar 1585 for property subject to the former priory of Etoy (ACV Fh 162, fol. 7), for property that had formerly (11 dec 1537, in a terrier compiled by Urbain Quisard and Rolet Canel) been administered by his paternal uncle Claude Tripod, who would thus be a brother of Bartholomé.

A similar reconnaissance also mentions another daughter Magdelaine who is married to Louis Proux (fol. 97v, 24 feb 1618).

Land of heirs of Gabriel Tripod mentioned 08 jul 1586, Claude Mayor notary, near land of Anthoine Caillet, Vionnet, and others. A document of 08 sep 1592 notes Samuel Dunand consessionaire des hoirs d'Ege. Gabriel Tripod. This may mean that Samuel, brother-in-law of Jean Tripod, had acted for the estate of the late Gabriel at some point, possibly implying that Jean, Pierre, and Gabriel were sons of the late Gabriel. This Gabriel appears to be the one who was son of Eg. Nicolas and Pernette. The matter is further complicated by mention of another Gabriel, son of François and not qualified as "Egrège", in the 1570's, who had brothers Jean and Pierre.
The Egrège Gabriel Tripod whose widow married Egrège Estienne Favre left a son Pierre. Pierre's step-father made a reconnaissance on his behalf 10 nov 1582 for property subject to the former priory of Etoy (ACV Fh 162, fol. 19). Pierre held a half interest in this property, which had been purchased by the Tripod family from the estate of Loys Fusey about a generation earlier. The other half interest was held by Jean and Jaques, sons of the late Egrège Pierre Tripod, first cousins of the younger Pierre (fol. 24). From this we deduce that the father of the younger Pierre did not leave any other sons, and that the younger Pierre had not yet reached the age of majority. A later terrier, Fh 171 (see fols. 357 and 357v), reveals that the younger "Discret Pierre Trippod" in Fh 162 was now (1606) known as Spectable Pierre Tripod, ministre de la parole de Dieu.
