The testament mentions unnamed childern, his brother Gabriel, brothers-in-law Jean and Claude Ramuz, Gabrielle the daughter of the said Jean Ramuz, "la robbe bleue de sa feue femme", Susanne Begoz his godmother, and, in a codicil of the same date, his late brother-in-law Thievent Ramuz.

From at least 1672, her name is given as Jeanne Mignot. We are not sure if Benjamin Tripod had two wives, or if her surname was not clear to the pastors at St. Livres. In the surviving minutes of the consistory of St. Livres, 16 mar 1664, it is recorded that she was accused of abusing and insulting her mother-in-law Marie Delavi, who accused her of saying that her husband (Benjamin Tripod) should be burned along with his grandmother ("qu'on le brusleroit avec sa mère-grande"). This insult seems to carry with it the implication that Benjamin's grandmother, presumably the mother of Marie Delavi, had been accused of sorcery. Minutes from 01 apr 1664 show that Marie and Jeanne continued to trade insults, if Marie were to die Jeanne would surely be the cause, by sorcery, and Jeanne replied to the effect that she wouldn't be far wrong. The strained relations between Jeanne and Benjamin and his mother continued at least as late of 1675. The accusations of sorcery were topical. Witch trials were held at various locations in Canton Vaud at the end of the 16th Century and in the 17th Century, notably as late as 1660 at Cossonay. Calling someone a witch was thus an extremely serious insult, guaranteed to cause anger and grief.
