As unlikely as it sounds, the marriage record of Gabriel Brocard and Sara DePursinge, 03 mar 1719, says that she was the widow of the late Louis Mange. The record of her first marriage was found in 1693. Her death record in 1750 says she was about 70 years old. There is little doubt that she was the Sara DePursinge baptised in 1674. There does not appear to be another Gabriel Brocard who was a councillor, although we have not yet located his death record. He married again after Sara's death, for there is a death record of his wife Jeanne in 1765. Gabriel would have been 28 when he married Sara, who would have been 44 at that time.
