Her name is in question. Burke's Peerage says Catherine Jane Saunders, but Gentleman's Magazine and her marriage settlement refer to her (presumably by her given names) as Catherine Slane or Sleane. We assume that "Jane" is a misreading of "Slane" in this instance. She was a popular actress under the stage name of "Miss Fisher".
Lorna J. Clark, editor of The letters of Sarah Hariet Burney (Athens, GA: University of Georgia Press, 1997, p. 317n) gives the following details:
"As 'Miss Fisher,' Catherine Jane Saunders (d. 1850) was well known as an actress at the Plymouth and other provincial theaters. On 26 November 1808, she married the Hon. Willoughby Bertie (1787-1810), second son of the 4th Earl of Abingdon. Her husband was placed in command of H. M. S. Satellite, which sailed from Spithead 17 December 1810 and was lost in a gale. 'In one of these sudden gusts... she is supposed to have upset, and every sould on board perished. The next morning her boats, some spars, &c. which were upon her deck, were picked up... but no other vestige of her has ever been seen.' Capt. Bertie was assumed dead, while his widow 'in daily expectation of her accouchement, was waiting his return at one of the sea-ports.' A posthumous son, named for his father, was born 20 April 1811, but died 31 July 1812 (Burke; GM, 78, Pt. 2 (1808): 1125; 80, Pt. 2 (1810): 656; 81, Pt. 1 (1811): 489; 82, Pt. 2, (1812): 189).
"The story ends happily, however, as Mrs. Bertie would eventually marry in 1837 as his second wife Rev. William Sheepshanks-Burgess (d. 1853) (GM, NS 8 (1837): 417, 648; NS 3 (1835): 672; Alumni Cantab.)."
The Wiltshire and Swindon Record Office catalogue shows the following: Salisbury Diocesan Register, 727/10/8, dates 1810 and 1837, "Appointment by the hon. Willoughby Bertie, captain R.N., to his wife the hon. Catherine Sleane Bertie, of a jointure charged on the manor and advowson of Weston on the Green, Oxon., and lands in Weston, Charlton and Bletchington; and settlement on the marriage of the revd. William Sheepshanks Burgess of Bathwick and the hon. Catherine Sleane Bertie, widow." The existence of these records convinces us that her given name was not Jane!

Named in a document of Anthoine Richard 09 apr 1610 (ACV DL 80/1, fragment of a register, in the unnumbered folios after fol. 214) , where Jean Dutoit couturier and his wife Claudine Sauvageat sell to Jaques son of Guillaume Dutoit, tisserand, part of a house in Moudon, Rue de Maulxborget, mentioning a "partage" involving the seller but lacking the names of the others involved, witnessed by Elie Dutoit and others. It is possible that Claudine is the person recorded in the baptismal register as Catherine in 1631, of whom nothing further.
However, the sale of 1610 provides corroboration of another mention of Jaques Dutoit tisserand, who made a reconnaissance for a house in Maubourget that he had purchased from his cousin Elie Dutoit, a brother of the Jean Dutoit whose wife was Claudine Sauvageat (ACV Fn 356, fol. 295). These two citations seem to provide the long-sought solution to the lineage of this Jean Dutoit, because there was only one Guillaume Dutoit of the appropriate generation, and he did in fact have a brother Claude Dutoit about whom little is known. Therefore, we connect this Jean Dutoit's father Claude as a brother of Guillaume.
