He appears with his nephew Pierre Mayor/Monod son of Claude in 1530 and perhaps later. A key problem is to establish his dates and to determine whether he was survived by sons who took the family name Monod. There do not seem to be any later Cigoens.
He was a minor, represented by Petrus Mayor junior (apparently his brother-in-law) on 30 nov 1523 (Fh 144, fol. 319v ff). That places his birth date after 1498. In other words, it is completely plausible that he is the "Thivent Monod" who is cited at least into the 1550's at Ballens.

She is cited as the wife of Claude Dufour of Chernex several times shortly after their marriage, but we found no children of this couple baptised until 1647. Elizabeth wife of Claude Dufour of Chernex appears as a sponsor for a baptism in 1651, and again in 1653 (as Elizabeth Cochard). She was still alive in 1666, when she appeared as a sponsor at a baptism along with her son Légier Dufour.
The record of his first marriage identifies him as the son of Pierre.
After the death of Jeanne Depallens, he was probably the Vincent Cochard, syndic du Châtelard, who married Jeanne Cochard, widow of the late Gabriel Anet, 18 dec 1702. Was he the same Vincent Cochard who next married Marguerite Basin, widow of Daniel Dufour?
The only Vincent son of Pierre Cochard that we found in the church records of Montreux is the one baptised 27 nov 1653, the name of the mother not given. A different Vincent, a son of François, also from Chernex, but whose baptism has not been located, married Jeanne Ducrest 22 jan 1669. Their last known child was baptised in 1684.
So far, nothing has been found that disproves the hypothesis that Vincent Cochard, son of Pierre, married in succession Jeanne Depallens, Jeanne Cochard, and Marguerite Basin, but there is also no direct proof. The marriages shown here might need to be revised. We found no children in the church registers of Montreux who could be his. The baptisms of these wives are also somewhat problematic, because they imply an unusual disparity of ages. The problem would be less serious if Vincent were older, but if he was, we were unable to locate an appropriate baptism for him.
