A statement from his naturalization record in Switzerland Co., IN is quoted in a clipping from the Vevay Reveille-Enterprise, 1945 (link to this clipping) as follows: "I was born July 5, 1786 on the Isle of Jersey, Parish of St. Lawrence which is part of the Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland under King William IV, King of Great Britain. Sailed from the port of St. Peters, Isle of Guernsey to America, May 1816, arrived in New York, 14th day of July 1816 and came to Switzerland county, Indiana 1816."

Her marriage does not seem to be recorded at Le Locle, and it has not yet been located in the registers at Grossaffoltern. There was at least one Rosat family at Le Locle in the 1770's, from Château-d'Oex, consisting of Jean and Moyse, sons of Pierre Rosat of Château-d'Oex. Examination of the church records at Château-d'Oex shows that they are the children of Pierre Rosat and Esther Loude, and that they had a sister Magdelaine Rosat, baptised at 27 jan 1742. Proof that this is the same Magdelaine who married Benedict von Büren was finally found in the nearly illegible baptisms of two of their children at Le Locle:
First, the baptism of Marianne Buren, daughter of "Beidith Bure" (or, in the margin, apparently "Burent") and Madelaine Rosat, born 31 nov 1776 and baptised 08 dec 1776. The sponsors included Jean Rosat "frère de la mère et sa femme Susanne Marguerite Matthey".
Second, the baptism of Henriette Buren, daughter of "Beidith Beuren" (or, in the margin, "Bueren") and Madelaine "fille de feu l'ancien Rosat", born 05 sep 1786 and baptised 17 sep 1786. The title "ancien" in these records usually means "ancien de l'église", or an elder in the local church, which may imply that Pierre Rosat actually did settle at Le Locle.
Also, the baptism of Henriette, daughter of Moyse Rosat of Château-d'Oex and Magdelaine Ducommun, born 16 may 1775 and baptised 21 may 1775. The sponsors included Beidith "Beuller" (or possibly "Beuker") and his wife Magdelaine Rosat, sister of the father of the child.
The unique spelling "Beidith" might be explained as a more-or-less phonetic version of Benedict, spoken so fast and indistinctly that the "ne" is not heard.

He might have had one more wife. There is a death record at Le Locle 01 mar 1772 for "la femme de Moise Rozat née Bersot". However, only a few days earlier, the last child of Moyse and his first wife Judith Esther Othenin-Girard was baptised at Le Locle. We did not find another entry for her death, and the next child of Moyse gives the name of the mother as Magdelaine Ducommun. Either the death record gives the wrong surname, or else it is the death record of the wife of a different Moyse Rosat, perhaps a relative from Château-d'Oex.
The death records at Le Locle also include entries for at least 5 unnamed infant sons of Moyse Rosat: 02 jun 1766, 04 sep 1771, 16 jan 1773, 10 sep 1777, and 24 sep 1781, as well as an unnamed infant daughter, 12 sep 1775. Curiously, the death records do not mention Jean Rosat or any member of his family, nor are there any death records for members of the family of Daniel Buren and Magdelaine Rosat. Perhaps these families actually lived in a neighboring parish, but preferred to attend church at Le Locle with Moyse and his family.
