Because his wife survived until at least 1654, when she is mentioned at the baptism of her granddaughter Vincendaz, we know that at least two of her sons, Pierre and Vincent, survived to adulthood. Also, she is listed as the mother of Vincent at his baptism in 1636. The other children of "Jaques Mayor de Clarens" baptised between 1610 and 1636 do not list the name of the mother, but because of the intervals between these baptisms, there does not seem to be anything to suggest that they are not all the children of the same parents.

There were two men named Abel Mayor in the parish of Montreux who married about the same time: Abel son of Jordan Mayor married 15 dec 1633 to Clauda Besson of Baugy, and another Abel Mayor of Clarens, his parentage not given, married 27 jan 1634 to Catherine (or Catheline) Dubochet. Both men baptised several children over the next few years. The baptism of Abel son of Jordan is recorded 07 oct 1604, but that of the other Abel Mayor has not been located. The notaries say that the one who was the brother of Louise was the elder of the two.

Louise was very likely born before 1600, and possibly as early as 1591. It is therefore possible that her baptism was not recorded (the surviving baptisms for the parish of Montreux begin in 1590, and are probably not complete at that period). Her parentage cannot be resolved until more information is discovered, perhaps in the terriers or the records of the notaries. In the Dubochet papers at the ACV (PP 785), part of the puzzle is resolved: the brother of Louise was Abel Mayor the elder, and his wife was Catherine Dubochet.
