He is not the Isaac born in 1715, son of Jean Baptiste Boralley. Instead, he was the Isaac who was a sponsor at the baptism of the other Isaac in 1715. His own baptism has not been located. He was a catechumen at Blonay at Christmas, 1713, by which time he was probably about 16-18 years of age.
The baptism of 1715, however, shows that he had a sister Judith, and that they were both "enfants du Juge" Boralley. Thus, the question becomes, who was the judge in 1715? The question is possibly not as simple as it appears, since there might be more than judge in the same family over a period of a few years. The marriage on 01 mar 1717 of Jean Daniel son of Monsieur the Judge Jean Baptiste Boralley to Marguerite Anteyne daughter of the late Antoine Bonjour in his lifetime assesseur consistorial is probably the best possibility. Presumably the same judge was also the father of Jean Baptiste Boralley who married Jeanne Catherine Mamin 31 dec 1714. The judge of 1714 was definitely still alive, and still identified as a judge, when he appeared as the sponsor for the baptism of Jeanne Marie, daughter of Jean Baptiste Boralley and Jeanne Catherine Mamin on 17 apr 1719—and that judge is identified on that occasion as the grandfather of the child.
These citations thus produce a list of the children of the judge:
The parents of all but Isaac are clearly identified in the baptisms at Blonay as Jean Baptiste Boralley and Jeanne Crespon or Crêpon. Isaac himself must have been born before 1700, in order to have reached the age of first communion in 1715, when he appears as a sponsor at the baptism mentioned above.
Echoing the caveat about multiple judges in the same family, the death record for Jean Boralley, 01 jul 1766, identifies him as the son of the late judge Noé Boralley and Louise Wadens, age 50. This was Jean Boralley, baptised 27 sep 1716. His parents were married 29 jun 1713 and were the parents of at least 6 children. This Noé is never identified in the baptisms of his children as a judge. If the record is correct, he might have held such a position later in his life.
