Census records are inconsistent, some list Tennesse as a male, others as a female. She is clearly listed as "daughter" in the 1880 census of Walla Walla Co., WA.

This genealogy, by Emma Howell Ross, 1968, has been missing from the Seattle Public Library since 2005. Information listed above is from the title line of the library catalog and shows the book "checked in". Darlene Hamilton, librarian, made a note of this today (Jan. 29, 2007).
[13429]
USGenweb, Suffolk Co, NY records: Shows that Edward Howell was among eight men who formed a company with the intention of establishing their own town. Among others were Thomas and Job Sayre. Before they left Lynn, 12 other families were added to the original 8....Cooper, Newell, and others. By 1640-43 Southampton increased by 43 families.

Cited in records of Jaques DeHarsu, notary at Geneva, vol 11 pp. 249, 256, and 257 (1689-1692) as son of Pierre Huaud (Huaut), both master painters in enamel for His Highness of Brandenburg, citizens of Geneva. By 1686 he had already married Antoinette, daughter of Jean Dutoit, minister at Rolle.
We are indebted to Peter Ray for calling attention to very interesting information on the Huaud family.
Aimé (or Ami) is listed in Brun's Schweizerisches Künstlerlexikon as follows: "Huaud, Ami, troisème fils de Pierre. Comme peintres en émail, les deux frères se consacrèrent surtout à la décoration de boîtiers de montres, qui etait tres en faveur à l'époque et s'étendait non seulement aux parties extérieres, mais même a l'intérier; les sujets en étaient généralement empruntes à la mythologie ou à l'histoire romaine."

Louis may have been born in Berlin, where in 1686 his father and uncle had been appointed court painters for Frederick William, the Electoral Prince of Brandebourg. Except for a six month leave in 1690, when the family returned to Geneva, Switzerland, the Huauds lived in the refugee quarter ("Cologne") of Berlin until 1700. Although it is possible that Louis spent some these years being schooled back in Geneva, it is more likely that he remained in Berlin and learned the family trade from the elder Huauds, for he is listed in later records at Geneva as a "painter in oils."
Louis had died by February, 1773, when his houses in the city of Geneva were sold for 3487 florins.
Sources: Choisy, vol. 2, p. 287-NOTE: Choisy has March 23, 1719, as the date of Louis' marriage, which seems to conflict with records at the Archives of Geneva.
We are grateful to Peter Ray, a descendant, for providing these details.
