This baptism is possibly the correct one for Jeanne Françoise Elizabeth de Crousaz, wife of Louis Théodore de Nassau-Ouwerkerk. The baptism lists her as Françoise Elizabeth, and her parents as Noble and Generous Pierre François Crousaz, Capitaine, and Estiennaz Elizabeth De Combes. The date is consistent with the age at death of 23 years for Jeanne Françoise Elizabeth, wife of the Count of Nassau-Ouwerkerk, in spite of other documentation to the effect that a later "rectification" (published in the "Feuille d'Avis"?) indicated her age at death was 38 years.

Baptism at Bergen op Zoom is recorded in the church registers of Lausanne. The parents are listed as Mr. le Capitaine Lieutenant Pierre François Crousaz and Etienne Elizabeth DesCombes. The sponsors are listed as Albert Noé Crousaz, Jerome Crousaz, and Magdelaine Crousaz née Chandieu.
He attained the rank of Major in military service in Holland.
His marriage to his first cousin Manon was not permitted under the laws of Bern, so the couple fled on 05 jul 1767, via Neuchâtel, to be married at a church close to Basel "où les mariages non avoués se benissent journellement". Where was this church? What other interesting marriages would its records reveal?
The account of this event contained in a letter from Mr. Polier de Vernand to François Tavel, councillor of Bern, also mentions that the father of Albert Jerome was still living, at the age of 83.
