Her date of birth is given as 08 jan 1768 in an act appended to the testament of her mother, as probated before the council of Lausanne (ACV Bg 13bis/14 fol. 93-94v). Other sources give 09 jan 1768, but we think the testimony of her father in this act should be more reliable.

Count of Nassau-Ouwekerk. The marriage contract was signed 25 nov 1766 (not yet located). His marriage caused some concern in Lausanne, according to the account of "Polier de Vernand":
(Translation: We had recently an notable incident of marriage. Monsieur the Count of Nassau Ouwerkerk, having reached the age of majority, staying here after having announced that he would like to establish himself in this area and having carefully examined all of our young demoiselles, decided in favor of the youngest of the daughters of Monsieur the General Crousaz, not at all a beauty... He made a donation of 20 thousand francs. He wrote to his parents to ask for their consent, but not having a fast enough response, he acted from impatience. Life is short. He does not want his wife to be called Countess because he is not rich enough to be able to support this title. The general opinion is that Monsieur Crousaz did not look into the matter sufficiently before giving his consent to his daughter, who may not find in the future all the happiness that she had hoped for.)
The Count was in the process of negotiating a grant of citizenship from Lutry, when his wife died. He never pursued the matter further, but a dossier relating to this project still exists in the archives of Lutry.
