Her family name is given in a document recorded by Claude Mayor, notary (ACV DB 26/1 fol. 33, 15 feb 1568) as Besançon. The terriers show that this name is an alias of de Froideville, derived from the name of their ancestor Bissenczonus de Frigidavilla, mentioned in the terrier ACV FH 137 dating from 1506.

She is identified as the daughter of Claude de Froideville who had made a settlement with Pierre son of Claude de Froideville alias Besanson prior to Pierre's reconnaissance of 38 feb 1531 (ACV Fg 52 fol. 161). However, the similarity of names makes us wonder if she was actually Marie de Froideville, wife of Jean Monaz of Aymonaz.

He made a "reconnaissance" 28 feb 1531 (ACV Fg 52 fol. 161) for property that had previously been recognized by his father Claude (son of Besenczon son of Claude) and Claude's cousin Jean (son of Jacob son of Hugonet). Before that, the property had been recognized by Mermet de Frigidavilla and his wife Rolete Saudan daughter of Voucherius dictus Saudan, presumably the parents of the elder Claude and Hugonet.

He made a "reconnaissance" 30 nov 1539 (ACV Fg 52 fol. 150v) for property at Mollens. This document gives his ancestry back to Michel de Frigidavilla. Prior to that, the property was in the hands of Mermeti de Frigidavilla and his wife Rolete Saudan, presumed to be the parents of Michel. The origin of the alias Cua de Loup (in 1539 rendered as Cuad dez Loup) is presently unknown. It is not clear whether it applied to the generations previous to Pierre. The reconnaissance for the Terraulx family in the same terrier (fol. 153v) implies that a daughter of Pierre de Froideville married Claude Terraulx.
Possibly arguing against the parentage cited here, is a document dated 22 jan 1423 (ACV C XX 18/4), a "reconnaissance" by Petrus de Frigidavilla alias Couhaz de Loupz for property at Ballens subject to Henricus de Montricher. It may be that all of the Froideville family apart from the descendants of Bisuncius who took the name Besançon were known at one time or another as "Cua de Loup".

Some sources call her Kinguelle de Gingins. In 1597, with approval of her husband Georges d'Asperlin de Bavois, she relinquished her claim to all paternal and maternal succession (thus content with her marriage settlement, ACV P Château de La Sarraz C 255, dated 15 nov 1597). The same collection also contains at least one letter from Kinguele to a brother, dated 1626.
