Her surname is revealed in the de Trey genealogy, which cites the inventory of properties of the family in 1617 prepared by the notary Abraham Fabry. Among the present owners of the these properties is found Anne de Trey, wife of Jean Gachet. Represented by Discret Abraham son of Jacob de Trey, she made a "reconnaissance" 16 may 1621 for property in her own name at La Tour-de-Peilz and Corsaux subject to the hospital of Villeneuve (ACV Fee 5, fol. 29, including the names of her father and of her husband).

No. 58 in the de Trey genealogy. His marriage contract was recorded by David Tavel, notary at Payerne (ACV DP 101/1 fol. 190, 24 nov 1698). The parties appearing on behalf of the groom in this document are Spectable Alexandre de la Serve, minister and deacon at Payerne, Noble Samuel Gachet current Banderet, Egrege Jerome de Trey, and Samuel Nicolas Tavel, "ses cousins" and citizens of Payerne. The wording is ambiguous, but it seems likely the notary is saying that Samuel Gachet is one of the cousins of Frédéric de Trey, a connection that has not yet been worked out.
The Jerome de Trey in question must be the notary whose registers 1697-1720 survive, but the only Jerome listed in the de Trey genealogy (no. 63, 1704-1792) seems to be from a later generation and likely misplaced. The elder Jerome, whose baptism is not recorded at Payerne, is mentioned in the church records as Secrétaire de Payerne in 1703 and 1710. He might be the Jerome de Trey who died 12 apr 1728, but that is not certain. Another possibility is that Jerome the Secrétaire 1703-1710 is in fact the son of Jean de Trey (no. 53) and Marie Mottet, as stated in the de Trey genealogy, but that his dates are those of a completely different Jerome — however, this solution seems incorrect as well, as it would put the common ancestor back to Oddet de Trey at the end of the 15th Century, far too remote for Jerome to be a "cousin" of Frédéric. Jerome is evidently identical with Jérôme David de Trey, second husband of Marguerite Moratel, widow of the minister Philippe Burnat. The marriage of Jerome and Marguerite is said to be at Pomy, 1705.
The other supposed cousin, Samuel Nicolas Tavel, seems to be the son of the notary David Tavel and Anne Marie de Trey. This Samuel Nicolas was baptised 01 sep 1682. He must have passed his first communion by November, 1698, because he appears then for the first time as a sponsor at a baptism in Payerne. However, we did not find him on the lists of catechumens at Payerne. His great-grandfather was Jacob de Trey, who was also the grandfather (by a different wife) of Frédéric de Trey, making them first cousins once reomved. Samuel Nicolas might have been a catechumen at Corcelles rather than Payerne. The Tavel genealogy says that he passed the test to become a notary at age 19.
Frédéric died before 1709, when his widow, with assistance of her father-in-law Jean Pierre de Trey, apothecary, and her brother David Henryjan, exchanged property with Esther Golliez, wife of Maistre Jean Pierre Méan, armorer (David Tavel, notary at Payerne, ACV DP 101 fol. 263v, 11 apr 1709). The de Trey genealogy says he died in 1705, but in 1706, his last child was baptised without the usual notation that the father had already died.
