He is apparently the Pierre de la Foge, father of Egrège Nicolas, François, Thivent, Claude, Urbain, and Michel, who were all alive when the terrier ACV Fh 34 was compiled (this family is discussed beginning on fol. 491 of that terrier). The terrier is undated, but since Perroud (Pierre) was still alive at that time, it must date from before 1590. Another terrier, Fh 38 (fol. 52v), lists the same children of Pierre de la Foge, and gives him the alias Filliettaz, suggesting that he had married a Filliettaz.
The conclusion that Perroud de la Foge had died before the end of 1590 involves two entries in the church records at Gimel. The first, on page 106 of the first volume of records for this parish, shows the marriage of Pierre son of the late Jean Valier bourgeois d'Aulbonne to Louise daughter of the late Noble Estienne Jaillet. A notation in a different but very early hand says that (she) married 15 nov 1590 to Urbain de la Foge. There are many entries of this type that refer to events recorded elsewhere in the same register. The second entry, on page 107 (now bound as a separate volume) lacks a date, but falls between two entries dated 25 jun 1590 and 10 jan 1591. It records the marriage of an unnamed son of the late Perrod de la Foge (very difficult to read) to Louise, daughter of the Noble Estienne (surname omitted) of Gyvrins. Were it not for the fact that almost all of the notations referring to previous or subsequent marriages in this register can be matched to a corresponding entry somewhere else in the same volume, we would not be able to reach the conclusion that this marriage is the one referred to on page 106. Therefore, Perroud de la Foge had died before the end of 1590.
There is still the problem of the alias Filliettaz. We strongly suspect that Perrod's son Thievent was known as de la Foge in Gimel, but as Filliettaz in Morges. We cannot be sure that the two names were treated the same way for Perrod's other children.

Although the evidence is not as clear as we would like, the simplest explanation for the presence of a Thievent Filliettaz in Morges with a wife Susanne Valier, plus a baptism there for a son of Thievent "Fueillete" alias "de la Fauge", it that this is the same person as Thievent de la Foge of Gimel who married Susanne Valier in 1583. Accordingly, we have divided the children whose father was Thievent Filliettaz (or some form of this name) and for whom the name of the mother is not listed, by attributing those baptised at Gimel to the man who married Gabrielle Dunant (this couple definitely present at Gimel until at least 1609), and those baptised at Morges to the man who married Susanne Valier, who is known to have died at Morges in 1603. It is entirely possible that one or more of the children have been misplaced, however. The children for whom this is a potential problem are Jean André, Claudine, Jaques, Antoine, Matthieu, and Theodore. Also, it is not clear which name was used by the children, or indeed, whether any of them survived.
The ambiguity of the family name (two distinct families sometimes using the same name) was noticed by Olivier Dessemontet in his Valier genealogy (typescript at the Archives Cantonales Vaudoises), but he assumed that Susanne Valier had probably married twice, first to de la Foge, then a second time to Filliettaz. Further research in the terriers may eventually untangle the confusion.
