Minister at Gimel and annexes 01 apr 1599. There is some uncertainty about his name. Based on the assumption that there were not two successive ministers with similar names at Gimel, he is usually called Beaudry. However, at least one record apparently in his hand calls him Beaudyn. Further, and this seems to clinch the identification, records of the notary Claude Mayor of Ballens, and also the terriers, call him Baudin. For example, the marriage contract for Jean Movellyat (=Movilliat), bourgeois d'Aubonne, and Marguerite, daughter of Pierre Combas of Crousaz sous Féchy (ACV DB 26/2, fol. 19v, dated 10 mar 1607) was witnessed by Spectable Jean Beaudin, minister at Gimel. The same notary, on fol. 26 of the same register (28 may 1606) notes Spectable Jean Baudin as a land owner at Mollens. Several earlier documents recorded by the same notary mention his sister Jeanne Baudin, wife of Discret Josué Fauzé, and one (ACV DB 26/8 fol. 23, 04 dec 1595), gives his wife's name as Susanne Beauvoys, and reports receipt of her marriage settlement of 200 florins delivered by Monsieur Salney, meaning presumably the minister Jerosme Salney of Aubonne (this document, however, lined out with a marginal notation "Reg. aliby").
He was "Discret" Jean Baudin in 1585, implying that he had not yet begun his studies in theology.
He made a "reconnaissance" on 12 may 1609 (ACV FG 125 fol. 306) for property previously owned by his ancestors ("ayeuls") Anselme Baudin and his wife Michere Constantin (their "reconnaissance" dated 15 mar 1536, commissaire François Grossy, property dependent on the old Abbey of Romainmôtier).
