She is called Anselme instead of Morel at the baptism of her child Dorothée in 1694. Perhaps there was a Morel family with an alias of Anselme?
A "partage" recorded 25 jan 1724 (Jean Pierre Monod, notary, ACV DK 82/7) mentions her as the "bellemère" (meaning either step-mother or mother-in-law) of Pierre Guibat. Other parties to the division of property were Jaques Cagneux with his wife Jeanne Susanne, daughter of the late Pierre Michel Morel (he was a brother of Dorothée); Jean Pierre Maublanc for his wife Anne Marie Morel (she was another daughter of the late Pierre MIchel Morel, and thus a niece of Dorothée) and her sister Jeanne Susanne Morel (thus another niece of Dorothée); Claude Morel as tuteur of "these" (probably meaning guardian of the children of the late Pierre Michel Morel); Jean Pierre Chenevard "the elder"; Jean Pierre son of the late Jaques Chenevard (this Jean Pierre would presumably be "the younger"); and André Dogny "the elder". The property in question was at Bière and was the subject of a "reconnaissance" dated 07 mar 1639, but it is not clear how the property came to be owned jointly by these parties.

The early records of the families of Bière are extremely confusing due to the multiplicity of surnames and aliases then in use. In some cases, the same alias was used by apparently distinct families. For the family that eventually became Favre at Gimel, the family name seems originally to have been Morel, then Gentil, then de Genève, then Billiard, then Favre, all in the space of about a century. The aliases are so tangled, it is not entirely clear what the original sequence was. The alias Billiard was acquired by marriage, but Favre came from the occupation of Jaques de Genève alias Billiard, a blacksmith, and thus known as Favre, a name continued by some of his descendants. It is strongly suspected that some descendants retained the name Morel, others Billiard, de Genève, or Favre.
Two reconnaissances in the terrier ACV Fh 133 appear to give a better explanation of part of the story. On fol. 47, there is a reconnaissance for Franciscus Gentilis alias Morelli de Beria son of the late Johannis Gentil, dated 02 apr 1493. The reconnaissant, Franciscus Gentil alias Morel, was the son of Johannes Gentil and grandson of Mermetus Pictet alias Gentil and his wife Peroneta daughter of Franciscus Morel. In 1495, apparently the same Franciscus Morel (Morelli) alias Gentil is listed among the tenants at Bière subject to Johannes de Mont senior and Johannes de Mont junior (ACV Fg 45, fol. 379ff, see fol. 383v).
The principal source for the present Franciscus Morel is the terrier Fg 5 for the priory of Bière. While there are evident errors and contradictions, the reconnaissance of Franciscus Morel on fol. 31, dated 22 may 1419, indicates his parentage.

The man called Franciscus or François Morel (or Morelli) alias Gentil who lived at Bière around 1500 is described in two reconnaissances in the terrier ACV Fh 133. The reconnaissant, Franciscus Gentil alias Morel, was the son of Johannes Gentil and grandson of Mermetus Pictet alias Gentil and his wife Peroneta daughter of Franciscus Morel. However, apparently the same genealogy is shared with at least one branch of the de Genève family (alias Gentil) about the same time. It might be that the Morel and the de Genève branches descend from different wives of Johannes Gentil, or that there were two men, brothers, called Johannes Gentil.
