She is mentioned in the terrier ACV Fh 4, believed to date from about 1430, and she had a sister also named Liona, who was then the widow of Mermetus Morel, presumably a brother or cousin of Franciscus: (fols. 14v-15, part of a listing of the "censier" subject to the current seigneurs of Aubonne, believed to be François and Jean de Gruyère, sons of the late Anthoine de Gruyère) "Item, tenent ut supra Lionam uxorem Francisci Morelli de Beria que tenet a prefatis dominis quandam domum sitam in villa Albone loco dicto en Rua Paccot juxta domum Lione eius sororis relicteque Mermeti Morelli a juria, domum Humberti Porsognyon a lacu, et cursum aque Armary a borea," cense of 3 deniers. Based on various citations in Fg 5 (for the priory of Bière, mostly in 1419), Franciscus and Mermetus Morel, both cited as reconnaissants, had different fathers, who were brothers, but there is one contradictory passage that makes Franciscus and Mermetus Morel brothers. The most likely solution is that the later were in fact first cousins.
Fh 4 turns out to be a revised summary of Fh 119, compiled about 1426-1428 by Johannes Thomasseti. In Fh 119, the equivalent reconnaissance gives more details: "Leona filia quondam Jannini Rosseta de Ballens uxor Francisci Morelli de Beria, 08 dec 1427 (anno quo supra), domum suam sitam en Rua Paccot juxta domum Leone filie quondam Anthonii Mutignier a juria, domum heredum Perreti Savour de Bougier Sancti Martini a lacu, et cursum aque Armary a borea". From this version, it is apparent that the other Leona, the widow of Mermeti Morelli, could be the product of some sort of copyist's error. The same information is repeated, however, in Fh 5 (successor to Fh 4 and Fh 119), with the date 04 feb 1438. Apparently, it is a case of two sisters, both named Leona, marrying brothers or cousins Franciscus and Mermetus Morel. In fact, the other "sister" might really be the one living next door, thus half-sisters, daughters of different fathers by the same mother, whose name is still unknown. The dates associated with these families do not appear to present any difficulties if Beatrix, wife of Vuilliermus Reymond alias de Gebennis, is in fact the daughter of Franciscus Morel and his wife Leona Rossetaz.
