At first, we thought she might be the "Ellen" Newkirk who married Perry Reymond. But the 1860 census shows that the wife was Louisa E. Suddenly it became clear that Pierre-Arnold Borel might have misinterpreted the list of children associated with Louise Miville. He gives the list as "Louise, Hélène, Pierret, et Charles", but the 1850 census shows Ellen, Perret, and Charles. Since punctuation was rarely used, or if used at all, used inconsistently in Swiss records of this era, it is entirely possible that the list that Borel discovered should be interpreted as "Louise Hélène, Pierret, et Charles", thus three children instead of four. In that case, "Louise Hélène" would be the same person as the Ellen listed on the 1850 census and Louisa E. Reymond on the 1860 census.
