A document of Etienne Pilliard, notary at Lucens, dated 02 feb 1729, refers to a verbal will of Maurice, but his widow and children agreed to set aside his wishes and agree among themselves to the exact distribution of his estate. However, this simple explanation does not square with other documents that make the supposed children actually children of Pierre Mojonnier. More study is needed.

At the baptism of his daughter Louise Elizabeth in 1704 he is identified as Adam Monnet de Sâles. The name of his wife is not given. Threre are no later baptisms that could be his children, and there are five earlier baptisms for Adam Monnet du Chesne and his wife Marie, daughter of the late Isaac Lambert of Vaytaux (married in 1682). However, there is nothing in the baptisms to confirm that Adam Monnet of Le Chesne is the same Adam Monnet of Sâles.
