[12284] Several references have been found indicating that Thomas Carrier was one of the body-guards of King Charles I of England. It is thought that he was the guard who killed the king. This was "about 108 or 109 years" in Colchester, Conn. records: "109 years" in Billerica, Mass records and "109 years" in the New England Journal shortly after his death. In spite of these claims his age at death most assuredly was exaggerated, perhaps by as much as ten to fifteen years.
