She is no. 23 in the Bégoz genealogy, which calls her Louise-Madeleine, and gives her an exact date of birth, 12 oct 1629. However, the baptismal record at Aubonne is dated 17 jan 1630, for Louise daughter of Jean Louis Begos. The source of the additional name and the exact date of birth are not given in the Bégoz genealogy. Her father had purchased the coseigneurie of La Chaux, and so she inherited this fief, which became part of her dowry. The Bégoz genealogy refers to her testament dated 04 aug 1680, which is at Geneva, AEG Testaments vol. D, no. 76, signed Grosjean. The testament names her husband and her children Jean Anthoine, Jean, Philippe, Pierre, Michel, Andrienne, Louise, and Louise Marie.

She is not listed in the Bégoz genealogy, which apparently missed her baptism. Could she be the Marie Bégoz, no. 29 in the Bégoz genealogy, daughter of these parents, who married on 02 oct 1663 Antoine Wurstemberger, son of the baillif of Nyon? But her baptism is very clear, and she was named after another Mia. As Aymée (Mia is a nickname for Aimée), she married Nicolas Olivier (see the Olivier genealogy in the Recueil des généalogies vaudoises, 2:230, where reference is made to a livre de raison from the Olivier family 1653-1774, which was in the hands of Sophie Olivier of Lausanne, circa 1922).

Information on the early generations of this family is mainly based on Henri de Mandrot's genealogy in Recueil des généalogies vaudoises (1:35-50. with errata on p. 687, 1912), which is appears to contain serious errors. Nicod is number 1 in the Bégoz genealogy. Other citations of Bégoz in various French and Latin spellings are found in the area of Aubonne as early as the first half of the 13th Century. Nicod is cited in records dating from 1396 to 1439, and the connection with the du Chaffa family is mentioned in 1409.
Extract from the "fichier médiéval" at the ACV: BEGOZ, Nicoletus, cordonnier, bourgeois d'Aubonne. 1426, novembre 26. - "Nicoletus Begoz, sutor, burgensis nobilis viri Anthonii condomini Albone" reconnaît tenir "quandam domum sitam in villa Albone, in burgo exteriori ... iuxta cursum aque Armary a vento", acquise par le confessant de Johannes de Serrata, notaire. Item 3 poses de terre En Prumier, pour lesquelles il doit une cense de 3 deniers. "Actum Albone infra castrum prefati domini". (ACV, Terr. Aub. 19, f. 22 vo., voir MDR, XXVI, p. 395).
The difficulties in the Bégoz genealogy include several families where the date range for the children is excessive, suggesting that several of the family groups result from combining two sets of parents, and a nearly complete lack of source citations.

Henri de Mandrot (Recueil des généalogies vaudoises, 1912) says that Collet (normally a nickname for Nicolas) is also cited occasionally as Rollet, but this is probably only the result of misreading old documents. Collet is first noted as deceased in 1527, and in 1531 his brother Etienne Bégoz acts for Collet's sons Gabriel and Pierre. He is no. 6 in the Bégoz geneaogy. De Mandrot makes him a son of Pierre.
However, the information may not be correct. We found the following abstract in the "Fichier médiéval" of the ACV: BEBOZ, Andrée, née Roberti, femme de Colle Bégoz, d'Aubonne. 1520, juillet 7. - Clausule de son testament. "Honesta mulier Andreana uxor honesti Colleti Begoz, burgensis Albone, filiaque quondam Francisci Roberti, de Castro", lègue semel 20 sols à la Messe du Purgatoire d'Aubonne. "Heredem suum universalem sibi instituit ... Gabrielem dilectum filium suum carissimum". Lui substitue son mari : "dictum Colletum Begoz, eiusdem testatricis virum bene peramatum". (ACV, Terr. Aub. 42, f. 35 vo). (The "fichier médiéval" was created before the second series of terriers for Aubonne was integrated into the classification of the ACV. The old "Terr. Aub." numbers were converted by adding 100, so Terr. Aub. 42 should be ACV Fh 142.)
Even if the name Beboz is simply a typographical error for Begoz, the information is very different. It may be that this is a case where the terrier is erroneous.
More likely correct are the following extracts from the same source: BEGOZ, Collet, fils de feu Jacques Bégoz, d'Aubonne. 1521, mars 23 (st. nat.). - Clausule de son testament. "Honestus Colletus filius quondam Jacobi Begoz, de Albona" lègue semel 4 florins pp. à la Messe du Purgatoire d'Aubonne. Héritier : "Gabrielem eius filium carissimum et postumum unum et plures si ex Andreana eiusdem Testatoris uxore eveniant, equis portionibus". "Testibus ... Stephano Begoz".
(ACV, Terr. Aub. 42 f. 37 vo.).
BEGOZ, Collet, fils de feu Jacques, fils d'Etienne Bégoz, cordonnier et bourgeois d'Aubonne. 1523, juin 2. - Reconnaissances en faveur de la coseigneurie d'Aubonne. "Honestus Colletus filius quondam Jacobi filii Stephani Begoz, autoris et burgensis Albone" tient des biens reconnus précédemment par "Stephanum Begueti ipsius Colleti confitentis avum paternum", puis par "Petrum Begoz ipsius Stephani filium et dicti Colleti avunculum". (ACV, Terr. Aub. 44, f. 261 vo).
BEGOZ, Colletus, fils de feu Jacobus Begoz, "sutor" et bourgeois d'Aubonne. 1523, juin 2. - Il prête reconnaissance en faveur du coseigneur d'Aubonne pour des biens reconnus précédemment par Jacobus Begoz, son père et par Petrus Begoz, frère de son père, ès mains Berardi. (ACV, Fh 10, f. 298).
BEGOZ, Pierre, fils de feu Etienne, et oncle de Nycolletus, fils de son feu frère Jacobus, d'Aubonne. 1512, août 31. - "Honesti Petrus filius quondam Stephani Begoz et Nycolletus filius quondam Jacobi Begou eiusdem Petri fratris, burgenses Albone" reconnaissent tenir du Chapitre de la cathédrale de Genève des biens reconnus précédemment par "supranominatum quondam Stephanum Bego dicti Petri patrem et dicti Nycolleti avum paternum", soit une pièce de terre sous la cense d'un denier. (ACV, Terr. Aub. 40, fol. 100).
These citations agree that "Collet", also called Nicolletus, is the son of Jaques, not Pierre.
From this information, it appears that "Collet", no. 6 in the Bégoz genealogy, is actually the same person as "Nicod", no. 5 in the Bégoz genealogy (listed there as the son of Jaques). De Mandrot says of "Nicod" that he is first mentioned in 1482, and that he and (his uncle?) Pierre Bégoz (no. 4) founded a chapel dedicated to St. François at the parish church of Aubonne. The family crypt was in this chapel. Based on the identity of the name, and the citations from the terriers, we combine these two records.
