Subject of a an "acte de diminution" from the Baron of Aubonne, 15 mar 1625 (ACV Fh 175, fol. 333v), in which he is granted a reduction in the feudal taxes due on a property at Ballens, which in return he promises to rebuild within the following year. One of the witnesses to this transaction is "Gabriel filz de Jaques Monod, beaupere dudict Pierre Convers". Had Pierre married one of the daughters of Gabriel Monod? Or had Gabriel married a second time to Pierre's mother?
Pierre was probably born during the interval 1586-1597 for which no baptisms have survived in the parish of Bière.

Probably not the same man as the Pierre Convers of Froideville (sous Ballens) who died before 1571, unless Froideville was such a minute place name that it was actually absorbed into Ballens about this time. A Pierre Convers of Ballens whose brother was the notary Claude Convers appears frequently in the records of the notary Claude Mayor as early as 1567 (ACV DB 26/1). From the terrier of 1622 for Ballens (ACV FH 175), it appears that the notary Claude Convers was the son of Jean Convers, and there are also many references in the terriers of "reconnaissances" from about 1570 relating to Pierre son of Jean Convers. The terrier ACV Fh 31, dating from about 1580, goes further, making Discret Claude, Pierre, and Jaques all sons of the late Jean Convers.

Son of the late Jean Convers, 1601. Not sure yet which Jean Convers this might be, but possibly the one who died prior to 1582. The first wife must have died shortly after the marriage, for it appears Pierre remarried less than a year later to Urbaine Bichet, herself widowed only a few months before.
The mother is not named in most of the baptisms, so it is possible that some of the children listed here actually pertain to, for example, Pierre son of Jacob Convers. Also, there do not seem to be enough marriages in the church records of the parish of Bière at this period.
