Pierre Chréstien is cited as brother-in-law of Lancelot Burdet (1602). We assume he is the same man cited as Pierre Chrétin dit Botel, but it is possible this is not the case.
He and his wife made a "reconnaissance" 19 may 1452 for property at Ballens (ACV IB 295a/735, in two parts, both signed Fabri). The following persons are mentioned as holders of adjacent parcels: Andreas Maency, Stephaneta wife of Johannes de Frigidavilla (she apparently held some property jointly with Roleta), Petrus Lanber (Lamber, Lambert) as leaseholder from the heirs of Petrus de Mollens and also from Johannodus Borrel, Girardus Barberi (i.e., Barbier), unnamed heirs of Johannes Vachetaz, Bisuncius de Frigidavilla, Francescia daughter of the late Mermetus Mathey, Johannes Martini, Huguetus Soudans, Michael Germanet, Aymonodus Mayor. Witnesses included Bisuncius de Frigidavilla, Aymonodus Mayor, Claudius de Frigidavilla, Perronetus de Mediavilla, and his son Johannes de Mediavilla. The properties in the second of the two reconnaissances were inherited from Johannodus and Cristinus Vachetaz of Ballens.
The alias Bosson is sometimes applied to Girardus. Bosson was an alias applied to his wife Roleta de Eschandens, and in turn seems to come from her father, Johannetus de Eschandens alias Bosson. The fact that Petrus Cigoen was also known by the alias Bosson is taken as evidence that he is another son of Girardus Cigoen, for there seems no other explanation for the use of the alias.

He is mentioned in 1449 as a property owner at Ballens (ACV C XX 18/5, 12 jan 1449). He is presumed to be the father of Girardus, who was an adult as early as 1452.
From ACV Fh 137, fol. fol. 850 (07 feb 1508 Style of the Nativity), we see that Petrus Cigoen alias Bosson was the father-in-law of Petrus Mayor junior, and that the latter, therefore, must have married a daughter of Petrus Cigoen. The solution seems to be implied in Fh 144, fol. 319v, a reconnaissance for Petrus filiusi quondam Mondeti Mayor de Ballens necnon Stephani filii quondam Petri Cigoen de Ballens, dated 30 nov 1523, in which Petrus filius quondam Mondeti Mayor de Ballens agens in hac parte suo necnon Stephani filii quondam Petri Cigoen eiusdem loci de Ballens absentis nominibus, in sequendo formam et tenorem cuiusdam alterius recognicionis tam per predictum Petrum Cigoen tutorem et administratorem et eo nomine eiusdem Stephani Cigoen et Johannete eiusdem Petri liberorum et quondam Stephane eius uxoris filie quondam dicti Stephani Maior, recognize several properties. The earlier reconnaissance, involving Petrus Cigoen as guardian for his children Stephanus and Johanneta by his late wife Stephana Mayor, establishes the identities of the children of Petrus Cigoen, and the additional information from other sources (see below) makes it clear that it should be through the daughter Johanneta that Petrus Mayor son of Mondetus Mayor would become the son-in-law of Petrus Cigoen.
This implied marriage, and the relationships stated in Fh 137 and also in P de Mestral I 1507, fol. 326v (23 jun 1488) are consistent with the following family tree:
Aymonetus (1) Mayor had sons Aymonetus (2) and Stephanus Mayor.
Aymonetus (2) Mayor had a son Mondetus who in turn had a son Petrus Mayor junior, who was still under the age of majority in 1488.
Stephanus Mayor had a daughter Stephana who married Petrus Cigoen alias Bosson. The reason we connect Mondetus son of Aymonetus and Stephana daughter of Stephanus in this way (making them first cousins) is because P de Mestral I 1507, fol. 326v (1488) also says that Aymonetus Mayor (meaning presumably Aymonetus (1)) was the grandfather of both of them. In turn, this statement assures us that Stephana is not a daughter of Petrus Cigoen by another wife.
Stephana and Petrus Cigoen were apparently the parents of the wife of Petrus Mayor junior, in order that his father-in-law could be Petrus Cigoen/Bosson.
In this scenario, Petrus Mayor junior and his wife would be second cousins, a permissible degree of relationship.
