It is known from the baptismal registers at L'Isle that Jaques Cloux and Jean François Cloux were brothers. There is also a reference in 1623 indicating that Esaye Cloux had an uncle Isaac Cloux and a sister-in-law Elizabeth. Since Isaac's wife seems to have been Nicole Berto or Berté (last citation in 1606), the Elizabeth in question might be the wife of Jaques Cloux, in which case Esaye would be another brother of Jaques and Jean François. But Elizabeth could equally well have been the wife of Claude Cloux, cited 1607.

Her testament was recorded 29 aug 1724 by Jean Pierre Monod, notary (ACV DK 82/13). It names her brother Pierre Cloux, a nephew Gabriel son of Jean Louis Burnier, and godchildren Jeanne Jaqueline Messieux and Gabriel son of Jean Pierre Degenève. Her husband's testament was recorded on the same day. No children of this couple are mentioned in the testaments. The brother might be Jean Pierre Cloux, born in 1671. This hypothesis leads to plausible identifications of most of the people mentioned in the testaments. Could she be the daughter of Jean Cloux baptised in 1677, whose given name was omitted from the record?
