The record of the marriage of his daughter Marie to Louis Genevois at La Mure 31 aug 1679 says that her father had been a minister "aux vallées en Piémont". His sons Jean and Antoine Léger were present at that marriage.
This is almost certainly the same Jean Léger who was minister at San Giovanni, near Torre Pellice, 1643-1661. At least twice, he had to flee imminent persecution, and at the end of his tenure took up resident at Leyden, in the Netherlands. He was in Geneva in the 1630's. All of this raises the question of how his children came to be at La Mure in 1679. He published a Histoire générale des Eglises évangéliques des Vallées du Piémont ou vaudoises at Leyden in 1669. His date of birth is sometimes given as 02 feb 1615 instead of 04 feb 1615 (the original sources have not yet been examined on this point).

[159] History of Kankakee Co., 1906, p. 1190. However, p. 1191 says she died in 1904.
The surname might instead by Leguyn, as the script is ambiguous. His marriage contract was recorded by Petrus Chuard, notary at Payerne (ACV Dp 16/1, fol. 51): Johannes Legnyn de Vissin and Girardus et Petrus Reys alias Moret fratres de Menieres nomine et pro parte Francesie filie quondam Anthonii Moret eiusdem fratrem sororis, 28 sep 1516, with release by bride.

[10178] Oct. 2007: Found on internet, abstract from book entitled The Leyda Legacy, publ. 1988 and which was mentioned in Everton's Genealogical Helper, Nov. 1988, pg. 161. This book contains information gathered by an earlier descendant of Jacob Leidy and was finally put into print by Lyle Brooks Watson, a resident of Florida in 1988. Need to check World Cat or Google Books to see who might have a copy of this book.
Author shows that one Johanne Jacob Leidy was from Kirchhausen, Kries Heibronn, Wurttemburg, Germany. Jacob and Hanna/Hannah were married in Germany.
History of Hatfield, Montgomery Co., PA has several tidbits about the Jacob Leidy family. [10180] On Oct. 2, 1727 fifty-three Palatines with their families arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Adventurer, John Davies, Master, from Rotterdam, last from Plymouth.
Although there were 140 passengers on this ship, only 32 names (including Jacob Leidy) are listed in Immigrants in Pennsylvania 1727-76, as found on Ancestry.com. (Oct. 2007)
There are two other published lists; one showing 27 names and another showing 55.

Birth of first child occurred in 1719, so 1718 assumed as date of marriage. There may have been additional children born to this couple.
[10187] Millennium file on Ancestry.com shows his full name as Johannes Jacob Leidy, b. Pfalz, Bayern on 25 July 1719. Death in Franconia Twp., Montgomery Co, PA on 18 Aug. 1794.
