Sally appears as Sarah Uran in several deeds after the death of Jonathan Uran in Washington Co., NY. She is Sarah J. Uran in the 1850 census. There is a Nathaniel Havens family in Pawlet in 1800 census (20010/21010), and a Lyman Havens in 1820. The name is found in other Rutland Co. towns (Clarendon, Orwell, Sudbury, Mt. Holly). Several references in family and official material show Sally S. Uran. She may have been named after her great-aunt Sarah Haven (born in 1744), who one source says married a Richard Smith.
Obituary of Sally Smith Haven Uran, From the Kankakee Gazette, Thursday morning, June 29, 1882:
Died in this city, at the residence of her son, Jonathan Uran, June 24, 1882, of dropsy of the heart, Mrs. Sally S. Uran in the 93rd year of her age.
Sally S. Haven was born in Brattleboro, Vermont Oct. 4, 1789. In the year 1800 when eleven years of age she removed with her parents to Pawlet, Vt., at which place in 1807 she was married to Jonathan Uran, she being at the time eighteen years of age. By him she had a family of thirteen children, eight sons, and five daughters, six of whom, three sons and three daughters, are now living to mourn her loss, with may grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. With her husband and family she removed to Rupert, Vt. In 1824 and in 1828 to Hebron, N.Y. and here she spent thirty years of her life as many other mothers of a large family in those early days spinning and weaving with her own hands all the dresses and clothing worn and used by the family.
In 1843 her husband died and in 1854 she came west to make her home with her eldest son Jonathan Uran, who was one of the early Pioneers of Illinois, having settled on the Kankakee River in 1837. With him she made her home till the time of her death, excepting about six years that she spent with her children in Iowa.
Although she was of a strong and rugged constitution and enjoyed the best of health until about one year ago, she was obliged to use a chair in moving about for over thirty years in consequence of a fractured limb caused by a fall on the ice.
She retained her mental faculties perfectly up to the last moment and possessed a memory of unusual accuracy and wonderful power. She was a great reader of the newspaper of the day and could see readily without the aid of glasses.
She was converted and united with the Christian Church in 1838 and remained firm in her faith. Her Bible was her companion and the well worn leaves of her old family Bible which she had possessed these many many years bears a strong evidence of a yearning for the truth contained therein.
Funeral services were held at Mr. Uran's residence on Friday afternoon, Rev. Mr. Axtell officiating. The remains were then conveyed to the Van Meter Cemetery followed by a long procession of old settlers.
(A modern index indicates she is actually buried at Mound Grove Cemetery, in Kankakee Township, where all of the other Urans seem to be buried, wtih the exception of Royal, whose marker is still in the VanMeter Cemetery. A portion of the same obituary was also published in the Vermont Phoenix (Brattleboro, Vermont).)
[147] Haven MSS shows 04oct1789, as does Uran family record attributed to Benjamin F. Uran, Jr., but death record signed by Dr. Benjamin F. Uran, Sr. makes her a month older. All of these records indicate Brattleboro as birthplace.
[148] Sally is in 1850 census, Hebron, Washington Co., NY, and 1880 census of Bourbonnais, Kankakee Co., IL, not mentioned in obituary of her son Jonathan in 1885. Data from Ellen V. Wilson.
[149] Kankakee Co. Death Record bk 1 p 201, listed as Sally S. Uran. However, she is apparently now interred in Mound Grove Cem. in the same lot where her son is buried.
[14400] Pawlet VT town records "restored", p. 137, "both of Pawlett", by John Griswauld, Minister. Entry appears to be transcribed as Jonathan Wran in VT Vital Records Index. Cong. Ch. of Pawlet has same information.

Possibly the Rufus Hawk b. IN age 16 enumerated in Sullivan Co., IN with Heimer family in 1880, but we would wonder how he met his wife, who, as far as we know, stayed in Allen Co., IN.
