Her name, and the presumption that she is indeed the mother both of George Challet and his half-brother Michel Croisier, is contained in a "reconnaissance" by Gamaliel Robert for property dependent to the hospital of Aubonne 08 feb 1612 (ACV Fh 173 fol. 561). The item in question is property previously recognized (Commissaires Bégoz and Barbier) by "feuz Discret François Forestey agissant lors tant à son nom que comme personne conjoincte de Pernette sa femme filie de feu honnorable George Challet qui estoit filz de feux honn. Jaquemet Challet" 14 mar 1564, and previously (Commissaire Pierre Cuynssins) by "le prenommé feu Jaquemet comme conjoincte persone de Françoise sa femme fillie de feu Jehan Cornex de Trivellin" and by another (Commissaire Pierre Gos) by the "susdict feux Jehan Cornex". "Assavoir: une piece de Clozel située audict Confin et territoire de Aulbonne au lieudict devant l'Aujoz au masson, aultrement en Praz Berthet, jouxte le prez dudict Recongnoissant que fust de Discret Jean Croizier de Trivillyns et devant de la predicte Françoise Cornex devers la bize, le recordz de icelluy mesme confessant que fust de ladicte Pernette Challet devers le lac, le recordz de Egrege Benjamin Valier notaire et celluy de Lancellot Burdet de Mont que fust de noble Gabriel Jalliet et de ses enfants conceuz de feue Noble Jehanne fillie de feu Noble Jehanne Thomasset et jadis du Conseigneur d'Aulbonne devers le vent... laquelle piece de record tient et possede ledict recongnoissant par acquis par luy faict de Discret Gamaliel filz dudict François Forestey" for the price of 120 florins (Eg. Benjamin Valier 25 apr 1562, lods recorded 30 mar 1603 Eg. J. Regnauld).
A further reconnaissance of 24 sep 1626 (ACV FH 176 fol. 372) by Gamaliel Robert for additional property mentions a reconnaissance of 03 apr 1522 (Eg. Louis Challet, commissaire) by "Michel Croisier fils de feu Jehan Croysier et de Françoise fille de Jean Cornex conjoincte", which we interpret as a statement of the parentage of Michel Croisier, who may be presumed to have been at least age 25 by that date. The reconnaissance of 1522 is evidently the one found in the terrier Fh 144 for "Michaelis filii quondam Johannis Croysier et Georgii filii Jaquemeti Challeti"; the same terrier has further reconnaissances (fol. 130 and fol. 474) for Stephanus and Jaquemetus Challet, brothers. Examination of this terrier will extend our knowledge of this family.
The terrier Fh 153 (fol. 639, 14 may 1567) details the property inherited by the sons of Michel Croisier, and in passing notes that Françoise Cornex had been previously married to Aymonet Ruyns, who had made a reconnaissance on her behalf in a prior terrier compiled by Nycod Brasier (not yet identified). There is a reference to the same prior reconnaissance in Fh 137, fol. 635v ff, dated 15 nov 1507.
The terrier Fh 143, for the fief of Champvent, compiled about 1521 by Louis Challet of Rolle, has a reconnaissance (fol. 27) by Jaquemet Challet for Michel Croisier and George Challet, in which Françoise is identified as the daughter of Jean Cornex of Trivillins as well as the niece (neptis) of Pierre Vigoroux, and the heir of both of them.
The terrier Fh 137 has two reconnaissances for Francesia Cornex, fols. 633 ff and 635v ff. The first is for properties that she held jointly with the unnamed heirs of Petrus Excofferii (Escoffier), a situation that does not seem to be explained. The index to this terrier does not show a reconnaissance for the Escofferii family, but it possible that it is actually present under some other name. The property had come to Francesia by succession from her father, and had been previously recognized by her maternal grandmother (avie materne) Johanneta, daughter of Henricus Borgonyon, and before that by Allexia, widow of Vuilliermus Rana (?) of St. Livres. However, the second reconnaissance gives a different story: Johanneta, daughter this time of Henricus Bergeron, was the wife of Petrus Cornex, and thus the paternal grandmother of Francesia. Further, Johannodus Vigniroux was married to Jaqueta, daughter of Johannes Bergeron. Somehow, the property in this second reconnaissance was held 3/4 by Francesia and 1/4 by Claudius Bichet. Bichet had received his share through a testamentary donation by Johannes son of Petrus Vigniroux, while Francesia had received her share in part through her father's estate and in part from a testamentary donation by (the same?) Johannes Vigniroux. Such a division could result if the original property were first held jointly by Johannes Cornex and Johannes Vigniroux, and then the share of Cornex passed undivided to his daughter Francesia, and the share of Vigniroux was divided, half to Francesia, and the other half to Claudius Bichet. Assuming for the moment that the name is properly Bergeron, based only on the observation that the spelling Borgonyon appears only once, we might suppose that Johannes and Henricus Bergeron were brothers, each leaving their share of their father's estate to their respective sole heirs, their daughters, the wives of Johannodus Vignirous and Petrus Cornex. This situation appears also to explain a reconnaissance in Fh 5, fol. 262, dated 28 jan 1443 (style of the Nativity?), for Petrus Cornex and Johannodus Vignirouz of Trivillins, representing also their respective wives Johanneta daughter of the late Henricus Bergeron and Jaqueta daughter of the late Johannes Bergeron of Trivillins.

His wife may have been from the Vigoroux family. His daughter Francesia is called the niece and heir of Petrus Vigoroux in the terrier ACV Fh 143, fol. 27 ff.
Johannes Cornex, son of Petrus, is the subject of a fragmentary reconnaissance dated in 1490 (month and day are left blank), part of a group of fragments catalogued as ACV Fh 8-bis, mentioning that properties had come from his mother Johanneta and from Henricus Burgonion and in antiquite from Alexia widow of Vuilliermus Rana de Sancto Libero. However, the damage to this transaction is so extensive as to make any further interpretation extremely doubtful.
