Marriage shows Claude, but baptisms in 1651 etc. show Pierre, both married to Estiennaz Groz. He is presumed to be the same Pierre Blay who appears with wife Catherine Rochat in 1672, after the gap in baptismal records 1659-1670 at Bière.

The connection between the Bley and Rochat families is also reflected in a sale of property involving Jeanne Esther Bley 11 mar 1700 (Jean Pierre Monod, notary, ACV DK 82/1), naming her uncle Michel Rochat (thus, presumably a brother of Catherine Rochat), and her brother-in-law David Martin (whose wife Jeanne Bley must therefore be another sister of Jeanne Esther).
