Notes for the parish of St. Livres (includes Yens)

• St. Livres, Yens: 1599-1671: The register begins at Pentecost, 1599, covering both communes. It soon splits, so that there are separate registers for each village. The entries are mostly legible, and with considerable detail. However, spelling of all names is extremely variable. There are no marriage records before 1640, and it appears even those are probably incomplete. A later minister found that many baptisms had not been recorded, so he made a separate list of the villagers whose baptisms were missing. The registers are on LDS microfilm #0128790. We have added information gleaned from notarial records.
